Should the trilogy end with Batman and the police being enemies? Is there anyway to reverse Batman's criminal status?

Yeah he should be redeemed, I think the only way is for Gotham to see that he is the hero they need. I mean thats the only way without Gordon getting in trouble.

He should be redeemed, but i have no idea how he can get out of that mess.

Yes and no. He should continue fighting bad guys and saving good people in Gotham, but it should never be revealed that Two-face was the killer.

well, i imagine batman's not going to be trying to clear his name. quite the opposite, in fact. it wouldn't make much sense for him to be doing so since he was the one that deliberately put himself in the position of being on the run.

Joker reveals the truth about Dent. Absolving Batman of guilt in the process. See, Joker wouldn't want the man who "completes him" being killed or locked away. He wants him to be free so he can torment him. And also Joker obviously wants Gotham to know that it's "White Knight" was in fact corrupted.

Joker has two motives for this then. It makes the most sense.

Obviously it would be someone else who reveals the truth.

Good idea.

The Riddler should be such a scumbag that Batman's defeat of him redeems him in the eyes of many.
But officially he is still a murderer.

He'll probably redeem himself with the 3rd one...at the same time, wouldnt the concept that he is a fugitive by law be a far more intruiging aspect for the rest of the movies?

Yea but after Nolan's done I don't want someone to come in and try to imitate what he has done.

When Nolan is done I think they should make more stylized Batman movies. Not Burton or Schumacher style, obviously.

But I don't want Batman to be limited to this "realism" Nolan has brought to the table forever. Coz we wouldn't be able to see some great Bat rogues and what not.

Something can be gritty but still be stylized. I just think that yea what Nolan has done is great, but it severely restricts the mythos.

Some bat rogues have no business being in a Bat-movie anyway, and when Nolan is done, this franchise is done anyway so I dont think one has to worry about continuation.

What so no Man-Bat?

:D

Yea I understand what you are saying. But I've said many times before, my dream Batman movie would be a sorta, neo noir, gritty but still stylized and fantasy Batman movie. With inner monologues and the possibility of villains like Mr Freeze and Croc.

Why can't that be in film form though? Like Sin City but with Batman?

I think after Sin City (which Im starting to wonder if that has aged well) and Spirit, I dont know if traditional noir comic book films are original at all.
I know people thought a few years back that a new rebooted Batman franchise would be like that, but I guess it felt too obvious.
But I wont hold you back on that to dream, god knows I've dreamed of things for a Bat-franchise with this gritty realism that would never happen but I would love to see (Cassandra Cain please? lol)

Heh Cassandra Cain would be cool.

But I think if any comic book character would fit perfectly into that stylized noir thing, it's Batman.

I mean inner monologues are such a big part of the character in comics, why not in film? Batman comics are noir, why are Batman films not film noir?

After Nolan's films they should just do a TDKR and call it a day for Batman movie franchise....wait years and I mean years to reboot then you can have your neo noir stuff....or you can have that in TDKR.

Nolan should end his batman films then someone else should start new batfilms that wouldnt be limited to realism...but as long as nolan is making the films i think it should stay on a down to earth level of realism

Batman fits into a lot of stylized approaches (Gritty, noir, Camp), I just wonder after Watchmen, Spirit and Sin City, if its retreading.

Super Ludacris Batman fits into camp?...Light tone yes but camp?

Yea that's the thing. It maybe too late now. Ah well, I still have Batman in the comics... oh wait!

I like a light toned Batman movies though...were he is similar to Superman in that he is patriotic, not brooding and dark, and enjoys life and helping others.
