Well, I voted yes, but I don't know about a total remake -- maybe Singer could just add some scenes and flesh out some of the better storylines a little more. I just got done watching X2 again, and I was really appreciating how Singer takes his time in telling a story and is so careful with all the little details of a complicated story. I'm so bummed he didn't make X3!

I said yes even though it wont happen, but if it did its a yes, but i want the same actors to play the same characters, but again it wont happen.

Hell no !
There was more power in the ending of X3 than in the whole SR debacle !

Singer MUST take a break from super-hero movies if not fantasy based movies in general.

PS : Kudos to him for launching the X-franchise but the man showed his limits.

I don't mean to affend the thread starter but this is stupid and pointless sense we all know he wouldn't do a remake of a movie that just came out a couple months ago, and even if he wanted to that would be a total waste of money.

Well there is talk of Hulk 2 being a remake so it's not like a time frame means anything.

Oh really now? If that's the case, then anything should be possible. That does raise hopes up a notch, hehe

No way should Singer remake this film. No way.

There was nothing that bad about this film, and really, it fit in with the feel of the first two very well.

All I'd ask for is an extended cut with all 21-or-so deleted scenes and additional endings tacked on, and a nice, fiery Phoenix effect... you'd have a great movie. Seriously.

If the movie were to be remade, you'd probably lose both the original actors and a lot of the great things that did happen in X3. Not to mention; it's so unrealistic.

Couldn't agree more, nicely said/written. As for that extended cut Avi Arad said there will absolutly be one I dont know bout Pheonix effect though.

I actually think most of the actors would return, except for one or two. What great things are you talking about? It's not that unrealistic. Improbable maybe, but not unrealistic.

We shall wait and see, my friend...oh yeah. Im working on a video about Jean Grey's LIFE!! and Scott and Logan are in it as cameos. lol its tough man...sort of...When I get to X3, im gonna have to use a different song. Its a tie between Purify, Comelies, and the Ghost Woman and the Hunter. What do u think?

It's really based on opinion... that is, for those who have a sense of opinion.

Let's see...

-Jean, Iceman, Kitty, Storm and Magneto were good or were given better parts.
-The emotion.
-Scott having some importance (Waking Phoenix and Dark Phoenix alike), proving he really was the only true love for Jean.
-Awesome Action.
-New, inventive, practical ways to use abilities.
-Clever Action Sequences (i.e. Leech depowers Juggernaut, rendering him unconsious as he runs into a wall)
-Beast, Juggernaut and Callisto...
-Bending reality just enough to allow Iceman to "Ice Up."
-An AMAZING Score/Soundtrack
-Much, much more...

Exactly; Based on opinion.
If you consider those great moments, what do you consider a simple step up? The only one that would even slightly fit into great would be Iceman icing up. The only great moment I can think of, which I still think could have ended much better, was the Phoenix vs. Prof X scene.

He definitely shouldn't remake X3. First off the general audience would be confused since most people at least know about Ratner's X3. Also the cast wouldn't come back since most of them seemed to have liked the third movie and be proud about there performances and I bet the studio wouldn't let Singer re-do it either. I think that Singer wouldn't do it anyway since reports say he liked the movie. I wouldn't mind Singer coming back for an X4 though.

Also, why would any studio want to remake a movie that was FAR from a flop?

This also prove Brett did quite well ^_^

well here's how I look at this whole situation. Technically, "X3", a direct continuation of the 2 previous films still hasn't come out. What we got was "X-Men: The Last Stand", with a storyline that seems to pretty much come out of nowhere. Think of it in terms of a comicbook. Let's say that X1 & X2 were part of a series and had an ongoing storyline. Now, TLS was more like a graphic novel or a one-shot or something. It still had the same X-Men lineup but a different story (except the phoenix part. but then again not really). Think of all the X-Men annuals or mini-series etc. They still contained the current team members but had different stories then Uncanny X-Men.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is no need for a remake because we never got to see "X3". I don't know if my explaination makes sense to you but it's the only excuse I can come up with and it help me sleep at night. And I still eagerly await "X3".

(To me "X-Men: The Last Stand" doesn't exist.)

people would be flat out confused, and it would just waiste money. so no.

lets move ooonnn.

What importance did Scott have? Other than being Jean's first "victim"? How did he prove he was the only true love? If they really had that bond then not only would she not have done that to him, but he should have gotten the opportunity to be the one that SAVES her or brings her back to her senses later. Besides, Jean was pretty quick to toss him aside after Alkali Lake. While she was in that forest, who did Jean call out to? Logan. So much for that special link between Scott. That love just wasn't there after 5 minutes.

-New, inventive, practical ways to use abilities.

Iceman figuring out how to freeze himself?

-Clever Action Sequences (i.e. Leech depowers Juggernaut, rendering him unconsious as he runs into a wall)
Idiot mutant runs into a wall and knocks himself out. even though he's wearing a helmet. Is that really the best they could come up with for this char? Where's the danger and power that Juggernaut is supposed to represent?

-Beast, Juggernaut and Callisto...

That was Callisto in name only. Callisto doesn't even have the powers you see in the movie. And since when does Beast wear dress shoes?

-Bending reality just enough to allow Iceman to "Ice Up."

That's not bending reality any more than letting Storm have white eyes or letting Pyro magnify a tiny flame into a giant fireball. Iceman's been freezing up since the 60's, it's nothing new or radical for the char.

-An AMAZING Score/Soundtrack
It's good music, but the tunes and mood are as rushed as the scenes. The love theme lasts about 30 seconds. Not even enough time to savor a kiss.

i voted no because it's over and done with.

singer left.

should FOX have waited for him to come back? no, because they are a business not fanboys.

Actually it makes perfect sense and I agree completely with this. Also notice how it's not called X-men 3: The Last Stand, but X-Men: The Last Stand. Yes, this whole film seems like one of those alternate, "what-if" stories like "The End" series. Writers wanting to explore different ideas but not to use them as part of the main story. So what if Jean comes back evil and starts killing off everyone starting with Scott? Yes an interesting idea indeed!

This thought does help me sleep at night too. Either this is an alternate sequel to X2 while we're waiting for the REAL sequel, or all of X3 is just a bad nightmare that Scott was having one night. Maybe he'll wake up and realize he's right back where he started, sitting in his room.

^^^ CCC, I love the words of wisdom you have in your sig block!
