Actually it makes perfect sense and I agree completely with this. Also notice how it's not called X-men 3: The Last Stand, but X-Men: The Last Stand. Yes, this whole film seems like one of those alternate, "what-if" stories like "The End" series. Writers wanting to explore different ideas but not to use them as part of the main story. So what if Jean comes back evil and starts killing off everyone starting with Scott? Yes an interesting idea indeed!

This thought does help me sleep at night too. Either this is an alternate sequel to X2 while we're waiting for the REAL sequel, or all of X3 is just a bad nightmare that Scott was having one night. Maybe he'll wake up and realize he's right back where he started, sitting in his room.
who knows maybe 20 years from now(when Rothman is dead or working elsewhere) Bryan Singer and crew can come back and do a "Returns" version of X3, completely rendering TLS obsolete. yay I feel better all ready.

I voted that Singer should not do a remake. I enjoyed Ratner's X-Men: The Last Stand. Sure, it could have been better, however it was still a decent film. Unless Singer would revamp The Last Stand entirely and make it entirely new, I feel there is no need. The Last Stand was a good closing to the X-Men franchise and I was satisfied with the way it turned out.

How can singer remake a movie that hasnt come out yet??

I say no, maybe the alternate endings and everything will fix it. I suggest they do X4 and at the same time make 1 or two more scenes for X3 add in the deleted and best ending aswell as easter eggs somewhere and have an X3 special addition (X3.5) with a ticket to see X4

I wish...hey. Asteroid man... Is there anyway to Rip the deleted scenes from x-men 1.5 to hard drive? I have a DVD ripper...but I can't find the deleted scenes, especially the one when Jean says she's ready to do Cerebo. lol but i Managed to find the x2 deleted scenes on my x2 disc using the dvd ripper program.

well u can do this, copy the dvd files to your computer, convert the scenes to the filetype you chose. and there ya go, If you wanna edit it or clip it just put the converted video in Windows Movie Maker and do whatever

No I mean...I've having a hard time finding them before I rip them. -sighs-

oh! Well if you have msn tell me and I will pm you my email and I can try with remote assistance if you want

Compared to what the Rat and the Rothman gave us, Bryan Singer somehow managing to remake TLS would be the most glorious thing ever on any screen.

Again..would he want to do it? -sighs-

If it was legally and technically possible to do so? Most likely yes. He had his own vision for how he wanted to do it, he had an outlite for how he wanted the story to proceed. As an artist, there is nothing more frustrating than not being able to bring your vision to life, especially if it's been a pet project you've worked on for a while but now don't get to finish it.

I agree.

So far as I understand Bryan was quite excited about X3, except of course for Rothman. When the WB offered to allow him to actually make his movie, one of his dream superhero no less, he jumped.

More power to him for that.

He wanted Cyke to be the one to kill Jean, Rothman didnt like that idea so he did all he could to stop X-3 and 4 from going to into production for financial reasons and Fox was worried this movie wouldnt sell if Cyke was the main character

^^thats a LOAD OF CRAP!!!

COME ON! Wolverine was the main character for the first TWO..let someone else have a chance! This isn't all about WOLVERINE!! ITS about the X-MEN! X-MEN! X M E N X-MEN!

Listen to the commentry by Bryan on X-2, he says something along those lines

no no I wasn't aiming at that. I was aiming at the part when u mention that Rothman was worried about Cyke being the main character...

After seeing X2, I was under the impression that Wolverine's story arc was completed. He found a home, he found a safe haven with people he could trust, he confronted his past, he decided he'd rather not dwell on it, and that he would rather take his chances with a new future, and start from scratch with people whose friendship and sincerity he knew was real. So that part of the story's over, now here is a chance for other characters to tell their stories.

You're right though, Cyke's character was obviously not seen as "sexy" by FOX's management, so they made a few changes here and there (more like turning the story upside-down) to put their hottest, most profitable character back into the forefront to maximize profit, despite the title indicating it's supposed to be a TEAM film. A film about the TEAM. This was X-men: The Last Stand, not Wolverine 3: The Last Stand.

Thats Exactly what I thought and felt too and that is when I started having feelings towards Scott having a bigger role in the next one and especially after seeing the teaser trailer, I assumed he would have his moment to shine, but -sighs- i think I probably would have preferred Singer's version over Ratner's...but then again...why not combine the two? :p lol

-sighs-

Singer even went up to Marsden and said: "X-men 3 is your chance to shine"

Damn...

I don't even know how to feel right now. It's a combination of feeling vindicated and incredibly angry. If true, then we were right to be hopeful about X3 giving Cyke the role and dignity we knew was his turn to deserve, and at the same time we're justified in our anger at seeing just how badly the char got screwed over.

At what point did he say that?

And, if he really believed that and wanted that, why didn't he find some way of being able to do X3?

He did choose to leave the project.

Read it in an interview with Singer

Fox wouldnt allow him to do X-3, since he wanted to do X-3 and X-4 back to back and wanted to focus on Jean and Cyke and Singer was left unemployed. Warner came up to him about doing Superman so he took it. Day's later Fox announced X-3
