World Should Superman be reinvented?

[The Question]

Read "The Science of Superman." It explains that most of SUperman's powers, including flight, are at least plausible. I do agree that Superman's powers should be more around the "Man of Steel" and "Superman: The Animates Series" power levels. Write him too powerful, and the stories just get way too crazy.

How about, the people of krypton were so advanced they were able to modify their own DNA structure which in turn were able to give themselfs superpowers. Would that work? cause there's already a possibility we might be able to do so in the future.

Also if they were ever going to change Superman, I'd say don't take away his current powers, just make them a little weaker perhaps.
