The Dark Knight Should the Joker die?

If you kill the Joker, how can he become Batman's archnemesis? Killing the Joker is like killing off Lex Luthor. You just dont do it.

By killing the Joker off the writers would just prove that they are as unoriginal as the rest of Hollywood.

they should kill of Joker at the end of the third movie, because his purpose will be done. Thats one of the things that always bothered me about comics, they just keep bringing the same bad guy back over and over again, and we eventually get tired of them, or the writers run out of stories to tell. once joker has served his purpose, he should be killed off, to make room for new fresh villians and new ideas.

I don't think so. The Joker is a personification of Gotham's criminal element. He IS crime. So long as it thrives, The Joker will survive. As long as the wicked and corrupt prey upon the innocent, he will live, just as Batman will live as long as there are people who oppose them.

I think Nolan is smart enough to have learned from Burtons mistakes.

There is no way Joker should die.....no way! He should be locked up in Arkham. That way in the 3rd film we can see him brainwashing Dr Harleen Quinzel into helping him escape.

Of course he shouldn't die. It's acceptable for him to appear to die, as long as the scene is ambiguous, but the massacre of the franchise's best assets was one of the gravest mistakes of the old films.
