Should they make another Punisher movie?

Death Proof was not terrible, it was supposed to be filmed that way and made that way.

Planet Terror was done the same and it was good...Death Proof was bad...your telling me the characters suppose to be annoying?....they the ones we supposed to cheer on to defeat the bad guy.

But it was not bad, believe me, watch the other tarantino films, he is good in this tipe of films.

Death Proof was awful. I did't even finish the movie. Planet Terror on the other hand.

^ Exactly Death Proof had an unlikeable cast other then Kurt Rusell and the action sucked...Taratino usually has good action n his films...Micheal Mann will be better for Punisher.

I have to say, I am pretty happy that the rights have reverted back to Marvel. My only concern is through these Movie deals, Marvel is not doing any 'R' rated movies. You can get away with a lot in PG-13 and I look to see the Punisher as a supporting character in movies.

Marvel's opinion on doing R-rated films has changed recently. I'm pretty sure it was Feige that said nothing is set in stone in regards to that. Disney still has Miramax under their umbrella along with Touchstone Pictures, and the Punisher being a second tier character would have a significantly lower budget than an Iron Man or Thor movie.

Then again 3 tries with an R-rated Punisher didn't pan out too well (though the 2004 film did actually make a profit theatrically and DVD wise). So maybe they will try something new with it. Either way, I'm not worried despite the whole Franken-Castle stuff they did recently, Marvel will know what to do with the character.

Mann, Tarantino, the Scott brothers. Chances of them making a Punsiher film are slim to nil. And Rodriguez, I rather he not do it either, he's a good director that can stretch a dollar pretty far on a film, but he kinda sucks with dialogue.

Joe Carnahan, John Dahl, Walter Hill. Those are the types of directors that need to make a Punisher film.

What about Eli Roth?

I do not want Quentin Tarantino directing Punisher.

Tarantino could never handle the scrutiny of hard-to-please fanboys. He's even admitted as much.

I'd let him go to town on a Power Man & Iron Fist film just the same.

Quentin Tarantino should make a new punisher movie, also marvel studios has received the rights of the character back so there are rumors that the next is going to be part of the marvel cinematic universe.

Why Tarantino?...dono if he make a good Punisher film.

Why tarantino?
Well, every movie he made had a lot of guns and shooting, and punisher begind with a revenge story, that kind of reminds of Kill Bill,
also, tarantino never made a mistake and every single movie he made until now has been good.

Tarantino would never do a comic book movie you know why?

it is not his original idea he would change the mythos and character and storyline to fit his needs

HE tried to make silver surfer and iron man, but the silver surfer was regected and iron man´s rights changed to a different studio, he almost made iron man, and you don´t know if he would change the mythos, also the punisher storyline fits in many of the tipe of storyline that he usually uses.
So the punisher would actually work well.

Death Proof was not terrible, it was supposed to be filmed that way and made that way.

Guys! Did any of you actually read my post? I didn't say Quentin Tarantino specifically. I said early Pulp Fiction-era Tarantino's story sense when it comes to crime and violence. When I said Scorsese would be a bad idea, I though it would also mean Tarantino would be a bad idea too. But aspects of those two directors would be perfect.

And Death Proof was awful because it was filmed that way. He did that on purpose, which was just a terrible idea on his part. Death Proof was a terrible idea.

What about Eli Roth?

While I like Roth, I really can't see him directing it.

Two other directors that came to mind, Isaac Florentine and John Hyams. Now they've only really have done direct-to-DVD films, but those were pretty damn good and had some nice action.

Actually, i didn´t know you offered that pocibilitie of tarantino directing the punisher, i offered it because that´s the best option for me.

And Tarantino straight up said he would never do a movie based on a comic book character.

Yeah, and why should he? As someone else said, he doesn't like adapting films word for word and plot for plot. He likes creating original stories. The only adaptation he had done was Jackie Brown, and he changed the characters, plot, and name of the film.

If he did that for a comic book film, fans will riot and he would probably end up getting death threats.

Actually just read on wikipedia Tarantino did not change majority of Jackie Brown....just her last name and setting of the movie....everything esle is somewhat the same.

Yeah, i know he won´t but i read somewhere that marvel bought the rights of the film back and they are planning a film titled Frank Castle and possibly a tv series or a crossover.

A movie and a tv series at the sametime?...why not do the tv series and hold off the movie for about 15-20 years.

I think that the tv series is going to be after, but the tv series is not being planned much right now, they want to release the film after the avengers and maibe make him crossover with other characters in future films.

Why not just wait to do the remake later?....they remade it 3 times already and people will be like ''another punisher movie?...god!''....so wait 15-20 years and if the tv show is successful then remake.
