Punisher will cross the line Batman won't, and he doesn't even have to engage Joker, he could snipe him from a mile away if he wishes. Besides, Punisher has bested the Joker before.

The thing about a Joker vs Punisher meet up comes down to how much they know about each other. If Frank just pulls into Gotham city and Joker just notices the costume etc, he'll think he's just another costumed hero. His unpredictability would serve him well against Frank, but eventually we'll have what happens in the meet up; Joker does his whole spiel about being crazy and he's waiting to be hauled off to Arkham. A bloodied Frank marches towards him aiming the gun at his head and a shocked Joker (in a surprising display of fear) says "You're....you're really going to do it!"

Though it depends also on the writers. I think Batman vs Frank in a straight up brawl would be a difficult fight, but I'm not sure how easily one would win over the other. I never really knew this, but Frank has actually studied different martial arts. I remember him using a maneuver called the shuto in an issue of Warzone. Either way, I love both of the dark vigilantes.

A Punisher fan doesn't know? He trains in a small group with men who hold no allegiance to any single style or master. Frank's original style was established as LINE, the old marine martial art that's been replaced by MCMAP in the past few years.

well im pretty sure he knew all that Military instructed Martial Art but i always wondered if he trained with other styles over the years.

i havent picked up anything Pre MAX in years so i gotta read all of it again.

It's Marvel's way around answering the question if they say he trains with a bunch of martial artist with no allegiance to any style.

When my friends from other schools get together to practice we just trade ideas and concepts, it doesnt matter than I'm karate and judo, or my friend Mike's a wrestler, or Tony is escrima, I'm sure it's the same sort of deal.

that was Deadly Knights. That was an awesome part of the story.

I'm pretty sure Batman would win in a fight, as he has training that goes beyond military training and martial arts. It would be an awesome fight though. It might even come to a stalemate.

But Frank vs The Joker? The Joker's brains would be splattered all over a wall before he had time to even laugh.

Batman Vs. The Punisher can go either way really, depends on the circumstances under which they meet and how. I'd wager with prep time and a strategy Batman could win, but if Batman is unprepared when he runs into Frank who happens to be packing, Frank for sure.

Kill? No. Defeat? Possibly, like I said in my post, in a straight up brawl things could be interesting, but in terms of gadgets, full arsenal and such it'd be interesting and more in Batman's favor. I feel "modern Frank" would do well, but still be out of his element since he's not fully used to the world of gadgets, but he is learning fast. Batman has tons of gadgets, but they're not overtly gimmicky like the villains he faces; they often have a very deliberate and almost military like application and aren't gaudy and attention getting; they can be stealthily utilized.

Batman beats the crap out of thugs with guns all the time. The Punisher is just a great fighter with guns... to be honest Batmans fighting skills are a bit better so I cant really see Frank winning.

plus hes had a disgusting amount of training with special forces and a ton of other stuff. Frank is a weapon even without one.

I'm a huge Batman fan, he's my second favorite after Superman, Punisher is not even in my top 10. But in reality, Punisher would slay Batman before Bruce knew what the hell was going on. And no, I don't wanna hear the Batman "prep time" excuse when Batman walks around with half his face unprotected begging for a good shot like Frank.

I'm gonna be honest and its gonna piss a lot of people off, but Batman's beaten or fought to a stalemate characters a lot more skilled than the punisher. Here are some guys in the DC universe I think are tougher than the Punisher and Batman at least went to at least a Stalemate with at some point in his career.

Yeah, but Batman's recovered from a broken back and is out there hopping around on roofs. So realizim in the match-ups is instantly out the window, after all, if he can be out there after a shattered spine what's a bullet or sword or omega beam gonna do?

I'm fairly certain that both characters would study one another before engaging in combat. Both would use prep time to study one another and find points of weakness. Factor in that Batman could take down a dude with guns with absolute ease. Factor in that Frank could have both his legs chopped off and he'd still try to rip your throat out. I'd think that if Batman doesn't beat him, they'd either fight to a stalemate and walk away or they'd both be dead.

It's possible that Frank could easily just snipe Batman before he even knew what happened.

One factor I'd like removed however is use of the Bat-family. No Robin, no Nighwing, Batgirl, Huntress, Catwoman...none of them. Just Frank and Bruce going at it.
