Should they make another Punisher movie?

Oh yes, things can only work like they did in the past. I guess we should have given up on flight after DaVinci too because it didn't work then, those damn Wright brothers!

Lets take a look at the other Marvel Direct to DVD Movies:

Captain America (Failure), Fantastic Four 1994 (Mega Failure), Other Captain America (Failure), Dr. Strange (Failure), Amazing Spider Man (Failure)

Sensing a pattern here? Or is it just me?

'90s CAptain America was a failure. But, Fantastic Four was never officially released, Dr. Strange and Amazing Spider-Man were both TV movies. Direct-to-DVD films aren't as crappy as they used to be.

Punisher could do very good on direct to dvd.

on what basis, exactly?

Again, direct to dvd comes with a bad rep, despite a few gems. But you keep mentioning how poorly received the last 3 cinematic attempts were. If people saw the trailer for a new theatrical Punisher and assumed it sucked, why would they think that this new direct to DVD Punisher movie would be any better?

It's a wasteful opportunity for Marvel to take. Not to mention, for a direct to DVD movie, they probably won't give the character the budget it deserves simply because it's direct to DVD. And if that's the case, The Punisher is in no better hands than when he was owned by Lion's Gate.

If they gonna make another Punisher film atleast wait 10 years to do so. That way can give sometime between the gap of Punisher 2004 and PWZ. And this time do it truly right and nail the character.

Some WWE wrestlers will probably star in direct to DVD Punisher movie

But I highly doubt it, I hope Marvel recognises Punisher as a good enough character to be brought to the big screen.

John Cena would star as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Not saying their cannot be a good theater Punisher film, but Punisher should take a beak from the theaters for awhile. Do not have to go straight to DVD but wait 10 years to do another film.

I say continue with theater films man... but get good writers and actors, which I believe Marvel will. In fact, the cast of PWZ wasnt THAT bad... it was just the horrible script

Yeah, chances are pretty good that Marvel will do another theatrical. The few us are just saying that, if they went direct-to-DVD, that won't necessarily mean it'll be crap. Hell, Punisher: War Zone went theatrical and was crappier than some direct-to-DVD films I've seen.

True.

I loved War Zone. The real problem with it are the villains. They are way too over the top and campy. The look of the movie was sweet and the cast was pretty solid but oofta those villains really ruin it. I thought Ray Stevenson was way better than Dolph and Tom. Not only does he have the look down perfectlybut when the time called for it he showed a lot of emotion that the other two never did.

I actually thought Jigsaw in PWZ was on par with John Travolta's character...

I didnt like the other guy tho... Loony Bin Jim

Yeah Jigsaw was pretty good at times but he should have been more of a vicious evil man. Loony Bin Jim was terrible definitely. Completely pointless character that kind of ruins a lot of the movie. Also some of the over the top violence is stupid, like the fat guy who's head blows up after gettin shot by 2 pistols, or the chair in the face.

Yea. I think Roger Ebert gave PWZ a decent rating didnt he... I remember he even said it was a very good bad movie or something

Yeah I think so. When they do the reboot, I'd love to see Ray get another shot at Frank which I know is impossible since he is in Thor. Ray was a fantastic Punisher.

They were all good Punishers tbh. All three of em. But Ray Stevenson did the rugged down beaten up frank castle a little better I thought

Somsone who loved PWZ! I never guessed I would see that.

For me it was just bad all around, but what really offended me was that it wasn't even in NY. Sure they said it was NY, but I live here and nothing in that movie was in NY, not the streets, the train stations, nothing. Then the bad cliched accents put me over the top. At least the Jane Punisher movie didn't try to pull a bait and switch with me.

^ Well didn't they film PWZ in Toronto Canada? And nothing wrong with having another Punisher film come to the theaters just give it few years. Have Punisher make important cameo appearances in other marvel films.

Ive been playing the 2005 game all morning. Thomas Jane's voice over is perfect. Better then Stevenson's.

I actually think they both do The Punisher's voice well. But I'd definitely choose Jane over Stevenson. Have you heard him voice The Punisher in Super Hero Squad Show? It was pretty great. :awesome:

I love it when Castle comes out of the coffin at the funeral, "IT'S THE PUNISHER!!!!!!!!!!!"

I got right after the coffin part. Am having some difficulty though... I went downstairs and I cant find any door or anything to use.

If i remember correctly, you enter a living room area and encounter the Funeral Home director who thanks you for making his business successful. Then you go upstairs and it's mayhem from there.

I dont think you had to go downstairs. But it's been a while since I've played it.

The most difficult part for me was always taking on The Russian for the second time on the island. He's tough in normal mode and he's a pain in the ass in hard.
