Should they make another Punisher movie?

I just wonder how Marvel will handle the character, will they go R rating or tone him down. His violent nature is part of his personality...

He's one of the few characters that would be really hard to make PG-13 I think.

Yeah, I really wasn't expecting anything out of Punisher film-wise for a long, long time, so this news made me really happy. :D

Feige said they would explore their R rated properties with him...so here is hoping...

Im certain Marvel is aware what their fans want... a good adaptation of the comics, which are violent and geared towards adults

They could do a Non R version but make it very brutal

Considering that the question that provoked the announcement of Frank's return was about introducing R-Rated properties I'm sure it'll be nice and bloody.

Not that the character has to be restrained to R-Rated features (like if they wanted to do PG-13 Civil War, they could still put him in with the other characters, just don't make him explode people's head into geysers of blood).

I think they will first introduce the character in some other movie (like Avengers or i don't know).

As much as I love Scorsese he's not right for a Punisher film. He'll nail the internal struggle but he's not an action director and I just don't believe his style would be right for the film.

I believe that a helmer for the Punisher film would have to have Scorsese's sense of internal conflict (ala Taxi Driver) and Quentin Taratino's sense of violence and crime (ala resevoir Dogs/Pulp Fiction era with a bit of Kill Bill).

I do not want Quentin Tarantino directing Punisher.

Tarantino could never handle the scrutiny of hard-to-please fanboys. He's even admitted as much.

I'd let him go to town on a Power Man & Iron Fist film just the same.

No. Punisher is a sucky-ass character as far as comic books go. Ennis's run was the only decent one out there and even that was a bit of a Preacher ripoff.

Executioner is a cooler name than Punisher....and cool I did not know were Punisher got half its stuff from.

With all these Punisher movies it keeps muddying the well and we may never get an Executioner movie which is the real tragedy. Even the Punisher's look owes so much to Mack Bolan (as well as the story) that at this point people who have not read them will think they are the rip offs.

Personally, I think if they were to bring Tom Jane back, they don't have to do the origin all over again. They could do flashbacks and things like that.

I have to say, I am pretty happy that the rights have reverted back to Marvel. My only concern is through these Movie deals, Marvel is not doing any 'R' rated movies. You can get away with a lot in PG-13 and I look to see the Punisher as a supporting character in movies.

I'd love to see Jane return to the role. Kick War Zone out of continuity and re-instate Punisher '04 as the only canon so far.

Executioner's story was the real tradegy?...wow he must have really lost alot by the hands of the mafia...but even if they did not make all these Punisher films Executioner belongs on the revenge movie angle and alot of revenge films have been made.

Quentin Tarantino should make a new punisher movie, also marvel studios has received the rights of the character back so there are rumors that the next is going to be part of the marvel cinematic universe.

Why tarantino?
Well, every movie he made had a lot of guns and shooting, and punisher begind with a revenge story, that kind of reminds of Kill Bill,
also, tarantino never made a mistake and every single movie he made until now has been good.

Wow, how can somebody not like tarantino?
And the kill bill movies were great, he is a director with much talent and is considered one of the best directors ever, believe me, he is a better choice than somebody that nobody knows like what happened with the previous ones, and the next punisher is probably going to be made by some bad director.
Tarantino is the best choice.

Tarantino would never do a comic book movie you know why?

it is not his original idea he would change the mythos and character and storyline to fit his needs

HE tried to make silver surfer and iron man, but the silver surfer was regected and iron man´s rights changed to a different studio, he almost made iron man, and you don´t know if he would change the mythos, also the punisher storyline fits in many of the tipe of storyline that he usually uses.
So the punisher would actually work well.

Death Proof was terrible...Kurt Russell was not the Kurt Russell I know and the other characters were annoying as crap...the black chick tried so hard being Samuel L. Jackson. I like Micheal Mann to direct a Punisher flick.
