Should they make another Punisher movie?

Lets not get into the collateral damage after an rpg passes through a human body that offers almost zero resistance.

Take out the rock music, add a score, replace the grenade launcher with a single sniper rifle, headshot, headshot, take out knees, interrogate, headshot, the end.

Errr...no. That seemed to me like a very badly directed scene.

If they did it in a more stylish way, then yea its cool. But Punisher Warzone... nope

Yeah, and it didn't help that characters were doing some pretty lame parkour. But, I did think it was funny.

yeah i laughed my ass off when the rocket blew the guy up...everyone in the theater did.

that scene is the funniest part of Warzone in my opinion.

Thing is... its not supposed to be funny... oh well

you honestly think the director played that straight

i dont she had to know that scene was funny

I dont know whether Jigsaw's speach was supposed to be funny or what

The parkour rocket launcher scene was played exactl as it should have been. Everything else in the movie, who the hell knows what anyone was thinking.

Also someone just this question to Stallone on AICN.

4. Hi Sly.
1) Have you ever been approached about playing the Punisher and do you have any thoughts about/interest in the character? None of the filmatizations have quite hit the spot and I always thought you were the obvious choice. Especially now you are the only actor I can imagine capable of pulling off an undiluted portrayal of Frank Castle with his Vietnam war origin intact. My imaginary dream project would be a run of HBO miniseries' adapting Garth Ennis' defining run on Punisher MAX mixing real-life horrors with bloody vigilante justice. You are probably not familiar with it, but with Rambo fresh in mind the material and sensibilities should be right up your alley.
4. Rikard, I’m very interested in THE PUNISHER on several levels and think the story should be resuscitated with or without me. Its just always been mounted improperly. Secondly, I think young men will find their own physical medium in which to prove themselves. It’s not their fault they don’t have a cinematic outlet for their physical prowess. I know in the future they will. There’s a welling desire among young male audiences to see rugged manifestations of themselves. That is why MMA is so successful.

SECRET IDENTITY: Who Should Play The Punisher For Marvel Studios?

Worry not, Punisher fans — Frank Castle has come home.

Announced at the Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con, the rights for the Punisher have returned to Marvel, allowing the studio to put their character back on the big or small screen in anyway that they see fit. It's excellent news for Castle fans who feel the character hasn't gotten the proper live-action treatment he deserves. With Marvel back at the helm, it's a sure bet that Punisher is going to head back to theaters with a vengeance sometime in the near future.

But with three actors having played Castle over the last 21 years, who could possibly fill the street-level judge, jury and executioner's shoes next? After the jump, you can check out some of our suggestions for who Marvel should cast as the next Punisher!

Jon Hamm
The "Mad Men" star has had his name tossed around for several different comic book characters from Batman to Superman, but that's not because Jon Hamm is a trendy actor — it's because he's a good actor. With his imposing physique and the take-no-nonsense attitude he frequently displays as Don Draper, Hamm could trade in his "Mad Men" character's advertising agency for Castle's overly ambitious arsenal with little trouble.

Chris Meloni
When it comes to diversifying your career, Chris Meloni couldn't have done a better job in playing the delightfully disturbed Chris Keller on "Oz" and the righteous if easily enraged Detective Stabler on "Law & Order: SVU." Meloni boasts a presence that could make a grown man cry home to mama if looked at the wrong way — a quality that's absolutely necessary from whoever plays Castle. He's already played both sides of the law, and this could be a great chance for Meloni to straddle that line like he never has before.

Viggo Mortensen
Marvel Studios is no stranger to hiring unexpected but no less talented actors for their biggest movie roles — like Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, for example. Viggo Mortensen is an equally unlikely but excellent choice to bring his unique brand of justice to the role of Frank Castle. A powerful actor who emits a whole spectrum of emotion with a single look, there's little doubt that Mortensen would elevate the Punisher to new heights.

Timothy Olyphant
Already well accustomed to taking the law into his own hands on FX's "Justified," not to mention his action hero turn in "Hitman," Timothy Olyphant has just about everything you could want out of a big screen Punisher — the intimidating look, a perfect blend of comedy and drama and plenty of experience playing badass roles. There's no question that Olyphant could tear it up as Frank Castle.

Thomas Jane
Although "The Punisher" wasn't the best received comic book movie of all time, Thomas Jane received plenty of fan support for his portrayal of Frank Castle. Seen by many as an excellent Frank trapped in a lackluster "Punisher" film, Jane could certainly use a second chance, particularly under the watchful eye of Marvel Studios. If you can ignore the Ray Stevenson film and hop right back into Jane's take on the character, perhaps it makes sense to go with someone familiar.

Hamm and Jane are the top picks off of that list. if Hamm beefed up he'd look like the MAX Punisher through and through.

This is tough because I've picked all of those guys before (except Mortensen) to play Castle! God, this is tough, but also fun. I would love to see any of those guys get the role, but so long as Castle is coming back and the film has a high chance of kicking all kinds of ass, I'd be happy with either choice.

I hope they give him a cameo in The Avengers or do a 10 minute short to bring him interest.

I could already see how they could work in a cameo, Fury could be talking to Cap and Stark about something and Black Widow comes into the room and tells Fury "he's here". Fury nods and in walks Frank with a black folder and tosses it onto the table. Fury remarks about how he could always count on Castle for tough black ops recon jobs and Castle simply asks for the information he requested and Fury gives him a folder.

it would make sense and allude to the fact that Fury and Castle have known each other, and even worked together, for a long long time.

That would be awesome!

I agree, either a cameo in Avengers or he gets a 10 minute short. Both would be awesome, though. :woot:

i got my idea from Mother Russia from the MAX series :D

the 10 minute short should be the opening to "In the Beginning" where he mows down the entire crime family with the M50 Machine Gun while having an inner monologue talking about what he has become and why he does what he does now as opposed to when he first started.

^ That would kick so much ass to have Frank appear in avengers like that!

i should write a script haha...i can come up with a story but i dont know how a script works haha

but in all seriousness i hope someone thinks up of something like that, it would be awesome to see him introduced like that. id lose my ****!

Just write man! Frank could have so many advantages working with Fury, like some very nasty weaponry.

I love their dialogue in Mother Russia...i wish i could find the Fury MAX comics.

i need to read some scripts to get the idea of how to write one.

imo, frank doesnt need to appear in avengers.
if another movie is done, just go ahead and make it a sequel, there's no need to reboot the series for a fourth time. it doesnt even have to be directly a sequel even, it could be like the latest superman movie, not a reboot but not a sequel, just a movie.

id like a tv show though, a good one could be just as popular as a lot of hbo's finest shows. same with heroes for hire.

a Punisher HBO series would be a great way to bring Frank to life but a movie, if done well, could be even better.
