Should Thor (the character) be CGI in a live action movie?

You don't need wrestlers damn it!

I am sure you can find a great ACTOR who can also work out to look strong. It's been done before it can be done again. Obviously.

Top choice is still Brad Pitt. He literally looked exactly like Thor in TROY and that was only, what, five years ago? I'm sure he can get there or close again.

I liked the idea of Kevin McKidd, from Rome and Journeyman.

Apparently he was up for the role for a while, but they wanted someone younger, like 19-20 years old. Personally i'd prefer someone a bit older. Kids cant act.

Vaughn said he was up for A role not THEE role. :D

I think Brad Pitt could definately still pull it off . The studios would love to have him as a lead .

No way.
People need to realize that Pitt is rapidly approaching 50 years old.
He may have made a good superhero character 10 years ago, but not now.
Move on.

Brad Pitt is a decent actor but an obvious sissy boy!:o I couldn't stop laughing at him in Fight Club,Troy or in Mr and Mrs Smith. I definitely can't picture him as Marvels' Ultimate hero.

Brad Pitt? Unless Thor shrunk half a foot and was anorexic he couldn't do it. Isn't Thor SUPPOSED to be physically imposing? Besides he is tooooooooooo old!

Yeah, he's pretty big now but I still think HHH as him would make it very hard to cast other heroes who are supposed to be bigger than Aquaman

Pitt can pound on the muscle, so no concern there. Also, it would be hard to find a big actor with the range and talent needed for Thor. And while Pitt is in his 40's he looks like he's in his late 20's to early 30's. RDJ already proved with IM that age isn't a factor like most people here think it is.

Don't get me wrong I think Pitt is a good actor but it's just I've always thought of Thor as the BIG guy / Powerhouse type.

If you want to go big....don't go with a wrestler.

Go with one of the guys from those Worlds Strongest Men Competitons.

Find a guy there, an unknown who wants to act. Alot of those guys are from Scottland or Sweeden or Norway or Iceland so they all have the makings for an interesting asguardian accent.

No, he doesn't look anywhere near that young!

As for Ironman, there was a suit of armor doing all the action. It's a little different when the lead actor has to be seen at all times.

Wel, how old he looks is all a matter of opinion, but he sure as hell doesn't look his age. And RDJ may have been in the suit, but it was his Stark that made you give a damn about the guy in the suit. Gerard Butler is 40, but nobody called him too old. I don't think THor should be a pup, but he shouldn't be a fogey either. I don't think Pitt is the awesomest choice, but if he was picked, I'd be behind it.

And you're nowhere near wrong for thinking that. But sometimes we have to make conceed certain think for making movies. I'd rather have a good actor than a massive lug that can't deliver a line. I hope there's one out there that can, but it seems unlikely.

And I agree with you, it's just a little difficult to change your mental picture and expectations of someone or something. Always felt Thor should be physically intimidating, Brad Pitt isn't.

I see. I've always been more about Thor's godly status. For me, an actor would have to make me believe that he could be a god, which is more imporant to me than him being big. Anyone with a hammer the size of a cinder block can be impossing in their own way.

the sad thing is a few years ago Kilmer could have been perfect.,

Vals nailed that accent before too...he is quite the chameleon on voices see The Saint.

I knew it, I knew, I knew it some one was going to come out of their butt with Fabio as Thor.

With a resounding HELL NO to Fabio and CGI for a Thor movie. And a possibly for the St. Louis Ram player if he gets an acting coach.

John Cena?
Evidently, according to UGO, he is a strong candidate for Captain America...
He's got the body, the square jaw...
He just can't act.

He would be in a stand-alone film at first.
I can't beleive that with all the complaining we do about actors not being big enough, you would say that he is too big.
