Sequels Should Venom Return??

wasn't it with Larsen that Venom stopped looking like an evil Spider-Man and started looking like a "monster spider-man" ?

Yea

bottom line ,raimi destroyed venom and we are all(for the most part) pissed at him

I'm going to have to disagree. For those that are familiar with me, they know that I've been a Venom fan for a long time. They know Venom is #1 to me. As I've mentioned before I was against the casting choice of Topher Grace for Venom, but I gave him a chance and I was pleasantly surprised. I was pleased with how they handled Venom, and I feel they improved his origin. It's light years better then that secret wars origin, thats for sure. We get a good cause for Eddie Brock's hatred towards Parker, a previous confrontation instead of blind blame.

So no, I don't think Raimi destroyed Venom. And I'm not pissed, I'm happy! But opinions are opinions, everyones best is someone else's worst, no arguing that. I feel his story arc is finished in the Spider-Man movie, I wish there was more (Maybe we'll get a Spider-Man 3.1). Plus, there's that Venom movie.

Agreed, I do not see anyone being able to fix the mess that Raimi did with Venom. Someone down the line would have to make a reboot of the Spiderman movie and you know that it wont happen.
a reboot is bound to happen eventally

I don't see how sam raimi ruined venom, if anyone's to blame then it's avi arad and us fans clamouring for venom in the last movie, sam wanted sandman and the vulture, both old school spidey villains and very good they would have been, but avi pretty much foisted venom on him, and that was the problem, it didn't really fit into this movie. Now in an ideal world, and in hindsight, have the black costume yes, but have the ending of the movie be that peter realises that it's turning him bad, at the end, harry's death making him see sense somehow, then end on the church scene and the venom cliffhanger, then if raimi didn't want to do four, then someone else could have tackled venom.

He shouldn't come back. He's had his time in the spotlight - granted it wasn't very much time.

If they're going to bring a villain back that's already appeared in the franchise, it should be Ock. His 'death' was much more open ended than Venom's, or anyone else's for that matter.

Doc Ock is dead, Sandman is the only villain that is still alive and is still out there.

Regardless, its true

How is it true?

1.) Sam Raimi's version of Venom and Eddie Brock, Jr. was a combination of 616 and Ultimate, but yet when it comes down to Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Sandman, those versions were from 616, so why bring in the Ultimate version of a villain that he could've just wrote as the 616 version, gotten a bulky character to play Brock and made Venom more bulky also, possibly twice the size of Spidey and less Venom fans would've dissed the character that was portrayed in the movie.

2.) His many arcs could have been dealt with, getting fired, his interest in Gwen Stacy and him becoming Venom, but all three were too rushed only to have scenes with Peter and MJ that were too boring to watch and I almost actually fell asleep during the restaurant scene because it was unbearable. If they played it out nicely, each character could've had their time to shine, but instead, Sam Raimi turned out to be a blockhead because even with Avi Arad wanting Venom, he still gave Venom the fewest amount of screen time and cut out pretty much half of Eddie's screen time, and the same for for Sandman's scenes with the doctor and his family only to make this movie become equaled to Superman III and Batman Forever just because he was stubborn. If he wanted all three of his movies to be fantastic, he should've grew some balls and take the time out to keep all the needed time for each character.

3.) I loved 616 Venom, in the 90s series and especially in certain games like Maximum Carnage and Seperation Anxiety, and the symbiotes, to me, were the coolest villains ever created. They weren't masterminds but were completely evil, and that's the kind of villains that I like to read about, just the nasty, cruel, evil villains.

You wasted time writing that. I agree with all that and it has nothing to do with what were arguing about. No where did I say Raimi’s Venom was PERFECT, hes far from it. Im just saying that 1.) He doesn’t suck and 2.) Hes a hell of a lot better than 616 Venom throughout most of his career

3.) I loved 616 Venom, in the 90s series
So do I, but hes had the *****est treament for 15 years.

They jumped the shark after they introduced Carnage.

So in the end, going back to your first sentence….
How is it true?
How? Because this

is world's better than this

That might have been a good pic, but the only decent thing the SR Venom did, so it's marvelous that you put the only good picture of Venom from the movie, lol.

And...you put the most ******ed Venom pic up, so...if you're trying to prove you're point by not putting up great pics of Venom, I'm still not gonna believe your point when Venom can be much, much cooler:

I do believe that Venom is before 1992, as in thats a GREAT VENOM.

My point by posting the most ******ed pic of Venom was basically to symbolize all the crapiness Venom has endured throughout the years.

Your obviously missing my point so I'll break it down in VERY SIMPLE TERMS FOR YOU

Venom 1988-1991 >>>>>>> Raimi Venom >>>>>>>> ***** >>>>>>>>>> Venom 1992-2008

Comprende?

The only problem I had with McFarlene's Spidey is the spider symbol on his chest. It seems like he just got lazy with that one.

I wonder what would've happened if Raimi was signed on for one more film when he was making Spider-man 3? He most surely would left Venom for a cliffhanger and set him up for the Spider-man vs. Venom showdown in Spider-man 4. Since he wasn't sure if he would be back he probably figured he would cram as much as he could in part 3. In the Spider-man 3 chronicles book,it was mentioned that Raimi and crew toyed with the idea of shooting Spidey 3 and 4 back to back. I rather liked that idea myself.

They said they couldn't do it because the budget for SM3 alone was the highest ever for a single studio, so its reasonable than they didn't do it... what they should have done was Sandman, Vulture, GG2... Peter proposing to MJ at the end... gets rejected... symbiate cliff hanger as the VERY END... cut film... I wouldn't have minded if they just ended the series like that... make the sequel trilogy like four/five years down the line with a new cast starting with the symbiate saga.

But for hypotheticals, if they did 3/4 back to back... and I still wanted to get all those villains in (like Vulture and Lizard) the franchise before the end of SM4... I would have done SM3 exactly as I said above with SM4 having Lizard/Kraven with Venom at the end... have Kraven get the better of Spiderman in the first act by severely injuring Dr. Conners... Lizard is left sedated in critical condition... then the symbiate finds Spidey 1/3 of the way in and slowly the attitude changes become apparent in Parker... MJ breaks up with Parker... Black Spidey kills Kraven for revenge... Brock reports it and Spidey becomes a marked man to the police... Parker embarrasses Brock in front of Gwen and beats the sh:t out of him to top it off... finally Spidey comes to his senses and ditches the black suit... and he and Gwen synthesize the cure for Conners... meanwhile Brock finds the symbiate 2/3 of the way in... Peter decides to smooth things over with MJ... meanwhile Venom kidnaps Gwen and lures Spidey... Ned Leeds (Bugle reporter) finds out and informs Spidey, who in turn asks Leeds for assistance just in case... Spidey goes after Venom but is too late for Gwen... as she is already dead... she gives him the cure before she dies though... Spidey gives the cure to Ned Leeds and tells him to get over to Conners asap... Spidey goes after Venom... defeats him... Leeds goes back to Conners... but Conners has broken lose again... finally Spidey gets back just in time and injects Conners with the cure before Lizard kills Leeds.

Yes I understand its still three villains but here's the difference... the dynamics of Eddie and Pete and the Bugle could have been further explored with Harry Osborn out of the mix... there could have been A LOT more Bugle in SM3 without the Harry angle... also... MJ wouldn't play such a huge role in this one... no love traingles... Gwen would just replace her as the damsel in distress at the end... Lizard would only be a major villain in the first act... much like Sandman but only coming back at the very end, but barely touched upon in the second act... Kraven would have been a plot device if not WRITTEN OUT ENTIRELY (I just like the character personally)... and Eddie could actually own the film next to Spiderman in acts 2 and 3.

Because that's the perfect way to end a popular movie franchise--with a cliffhanger! :whatever:

Good Lord...

Well its not really a cliff hanger considering the symbiate wouldn't interact with anyone directly... maybe just have some scientists investigating it. Or just save the origin for the next film... no biggy. I guess its just that some posters need to take everything for face value assuming the guy he is responding to hadn't thought anything through in the first place... well... it is what it is.

My only problem with the way raimi handled venom, (and it's not really his fault as he didn't really want him in it anyway) was that there wasn't enough build up for eddie hating peter/spiderman, it basically boiled down to two scenes, the scene at the bugle where peter confronts him over the fake pic, and then him seeing peter and gwen going to the club. Now i know there was a lot going on in this movie, but what i'd have prefered would have been introducing eddie brock in maybe spiderman 2 if they were definately wanting venom in 3 or otherwise just have him go through the ringer in this one emotionally and have him be the cliffhanger ending. Otherwise i'm actually ok with venom in this movie, i mean venom is actually the symbiote and that was in the movie quite a bit, but as for eddie as venom, could have seen more, but it would have felt like overkill
