The Dark Knight Rises Should WB bring in Frank Miller?

Oh well just give him a chance at a Batman film and if he ****s up then he just ****s up everyone can move forward.

That's a lot of money to just throw away like that. You'd probably make a pretty good WB exec.

It was a double diss. Of your freshness and the WB cuz, you know, they're bastards. :o

So ima bastard too? Hey man just let Miller direct TDKR he might do a great job. People counted Mickey Rourke and Robert Downey Jr down and they came back with a fiery Miller can do the same.

RDJ and Rourke were proven actors. Miller doesn't have a very impressive resume as a solo director, to say the least.

Seriously. That analogy was apples and hand grenades.

Miller is a narrative genius with a heart of gold and the **** to match.

Sin City hello that was a good movie also he had part of 300 which was also good so Spirit was bad so what give the man a break he can make TDKR a great movie.

miller is terrible. he's dated. he still thinks it's the 80s. saying "goddamn" won't make batman a badass. you guys do realize that they almost made a frank miller written batman movie where none of it made sense, and it completely rewrote his origins(badly i might add).

Actually, Miller writes like it's still the 30s. You probably confused it with the 80s due to that simply being the decade in which his writing was the most popular, but w/e.

just because the spirit looked like it was supposed to be in there 30s doesn't mean he writes like that. DKR was not written like it was in the 30s AT ALL. i meant he still thinks in an 80s mind set. he wrote a very crappy treatment for a batman movie when aronofsky was supposedly involved. it wasn't batman.

then again maybe you're right. "i've got a thing for the bling" is definitely something someone in 1930s america would say.

DKR was obviously a political commentary on the American political landscape in the 80s, of course.

But Frank Miller's signature style of hard boiled, over the top dialogue between crooks and no good dames is a staple of 30s fiction.

And I wasn't referencing The Spirit. I was referencing Miller's numerous Sin City and Daredevil stories. Just fyi.

yeah, but this is batman. DKR was really good, and TDK was inspired by that along with the killing joke and the long halloween. miller doesn't write the way he wrote DKR anymore. plus his directing skills are lacking.

do you really believe that a miller written/directed batman would be better than a nolan one?

Rodriguez and Tarantino helped him out on Sin City. The only film he's directed by himself has been The Spirit and that was a disaster. He needs to build some solo directing cred before WB would even look at him for a Batman movie.

Oh heavens, no.

Listen their will be Batman movies better then Nolan. Miller can make a Batman movie better then Nolan he might need help like he had on Sin City and 300 but he can still direct and make it great.

Better than Nolan? I doubt that very much I mean have you read his YEAR ONE script (it's nothing like BY1 book) before Nolan took over? It's a good script but it didn't make a great Batman movie script, just a normal movie script.

Why not Paul Dini or Jeph Loeb?

Those would be writers I'd rather see.

But no, keep the same creative team.

Because Jeph Loeb lost all of his creative talent about 5 years ago.

i think geoff johns is probably the only comicbook writer that would do a dc character justice, but he may be a little light for batman. superman, flash, and definitely gl.

Have you ever read John's characterization of Batman?

He writes him like a total *******.

When was the last time Frank Miller wrote something that wasn't completely awful, let alone good?

Wow the Miller hate is up the roof. Well like i said he can have help like he did Sin City and 300.
