Sigourney Weaver... Emma Frost

So would she have been a combination of Moira and Callisto in terms of what her role in the movie was?

Would we have got the Hellfire Club over the Morlocks?

It's doubtful that the Morlocks or Omega Muties (or whatever they were) would have been in the movie... and I gladly would have traded each and every single one of them for a talented and well established actress with an actual stage presence.

I'm surprised at how many people in this thread seem to be in favor of her as Emma. Usually, they'd cry evil on how she's far too old for the role or how stupid some idiots are for even suggesting her in the first place and that they should jump off a cliff for it, but instead go right ahead to post some teenybopper's name for the role who couldn't even act her way out of a paper bag. Alright, I may be exaggerating things a bit, but it's great that some people are finally seeing the light. If they ever decided to go with an older Emma, by all means pick her. Although, I do agree that getting the rights back from Fox should be their top priority. Marvel needs to hop to it and fast. Hulk's getting all the glory now that Marvel's in charge.

Seeing the Light?

I'm open minded to cast an older Emma i for one just don't like Sigourney for it nor do i think she is ugly because of her age. :)

I just want to point out where i stand before i'm stereotyped into a group who would prefer a "teenie bopper" Emma.

I'm sure with Sigourney's Shakespearean acting roles she would of been perfect for the part. :whatever: :woot: :oldrazz:

Just kidding she's good but i can't see her as Emma and it's not because she isn't some skimpy 20 year old blonde bombshell.

Naomi Watts should've been in X3/X4 with a minor role in the former, and a large part in the latter that should've dealt with Jean's transformation into Dark Phoenix.:csad:

This news is three years old and a bit 'shoulda, woulda, coulda' now...

I wonder, though, what Fox thought of the Sigourney/Emma Frost idea? Did negotiations ever get as far as characters/story?

I'm still unclear as to exactly what happened between the end of X2 and Singer's departure.

Drats that idea is incredible, every once in a while I stumble upon info like this that makes me wonder even more why Singer left... why?

I wish this had happened !! :csad:

When Bryan Singer was still set to direct, he intended the Dark Phoenix storyline as the sole focus of the film. He also intended to feature the villain Emma Frost/White Queen as a major character, with the role intended for Sigourney Weaver. With Singer's departure, the character of Emma Frost was dropped, and the the Dark Phoenix story was relegated to a subplot in favor of the "cure" storyline. He also planned on introducing long time fan favorite Gambit into the film, to serve as both the new recruit as well as a romantic rival of Iceman's for Rogue's affection. For the part, Singer had planned on casting Channing Tatum. However, once he left, the script was changed, and Gambit was reduced to a minor cameo, then ultimately dropped from the script.

A bit more news mayB old, but it's new 2 me, so what do u guys think?

that Channing Tatum part is not true. Lauren Shuller Donner was the one who wanted Tatum to play Gambit and this was right around pre-production for the Last Stand when Gambit was intended to be in the film.

Naomi Watts as Emma!! That I like. :)

Naomi Watts being young would be good to work in the whole Emma and Scott in the sack, with Wolverine perched on the front of the bed saying "which stage of grieving is this? denial?" and then Scott would blast him out the window (and hehe its Scott acting like a dick, and that makes Wolverine the better man, oooo Fox would love that!)

[its a scene straight outa Endsong]

And cause a women of Signourney Weaver's age with James Marsden, with their characters having a sexual relationship... that sorta bothers alot of people.

I don't think Emma waoukd be linked to Scott romantically if Sigourney played her, maybe she'd console him, but she'd be like a mother to Jean coaxing her dark side to surface and a love interest to the professor, that would be really interesting, maybe they would have made it so Emmahad hurt Xavier and her return would bring out a darker side of the professor

... that could later be explored - onslaught based film

either naomi, kelly carlson or kathrine heigl for emma

Bryan Singer left because Fox was stringing him along. They didn't renew him immediately so that when they did, it would seem like they were doing him a favor and he would be forced to accept a budget cut. At the time, he accepted an offer to do "Superman Returns" and when he returned, he took the prime screenwriters and music composer from X2. So Fox got all mad and yelled at him for doing that.

There's a rumor tha Singer got really angry and Fox had to have security escort him out, but they had to let him back in because he had to produce House, M.D.....
