woulda been a great Juggernaut too.
After Iron Giant I'm convinced the guy could do anything. I'm surprised he hasn't jumped into the Comic film game long ago...although xXx wasn't far off(except for being a good film).

Billy Zane is a perfect choice for the Silver Surfer.

Hmm. Doesn't sound too bad to me. He was my choice for Lex Luthor and I could see him as the Surfer.

I think Silver Surfer and Galactus should be saved for a Silver Surfer film. Not used in Fantastic Four films.

I would cast The Rock Dwayne Johnson as Silver Surfer.. :marv:

I'd be cool w/Diesel but not sure if his voice matches the character. Howabout one of those dudes from Dogtown.

I always imagined the guy who played Powder in the movie "Powder" or someone like him would be a good chioce.

As for Deasel, I would rather have someone who can act and make me care about Surfer thank you.

mentioned Wentworth Miller in the movie forum, this guy is perfect for SS.

Billy Zane would be perfect!
He co-starred on Charmed a while back and I was blown away with his acting,
Now that you have mentioned him, I cant think of anyone else better for the role.

LMAO....you only know of Billy Zane from a co-starring role on Charmed?

ummmm how about Titantic????......

Not only does any actor have the ability to be bald they don't even have to be bald for a completely effects-rendered character. It would probably be all motion capture.

You have the chance to cast someone who might not otherwise get the chance to play another superhero character. The primary performance would be vocal. Since you have such an open palette to pick from, you should DEFINITELY pick an A-lister or high B-lister who can open a movie. One person who should be considered is John Cusack. He's respected, successful, has a great voice, and he's not your typical action star or big budget personality. Matt Damon wasn't thought of as an action star prior to Bourne, and that's part of what made the franchise have an edgy and interesting vibe.

Oh, and please merge this thread with one of the many others it's a duplicate of. This one seems appropriate

No just the freshest memory,
and the role he played was a philosophical man facing his eminent death, embracing his life and enjoying it to its fullest, a great role for him, and a hint of what he could do with SS if he were cast.
just great,

I would personally say jim cavezial...He played Jesus! The next logical step would be SS!

Zane was "The Phantom". Not a great flick but he buffed up for that role.

Vin needs a non-comedy vehicle to boost his career..
and who would be the villain-- Galactus would probably end up being handled "Ultimate" style.. Mephisto's tied to the Ghost Rider film..

Thanos-- ah.. they'd probably be better off with an unknown..

Ok. I always have thought Billy Zane would be an excellent choice for the Surfer. He has the bald look & build for it. Also think "they" can go partly CGI & part costume with his attire. Another choice for the Surfer would that guy who came out in the movie Powder.........Sean Patrick Flannery, I think. Who would be a good voice for Galactus also???

Billy Zane has already got a sort of type casting around him which wouldnt suit it. Its got to be a unknown

Van Dissel does look like the surfer over here...

but seriously, though, Van Dissel is very great!! But I don't see him as melancholy as the surfer, Dissel seems more confident.

Its not really the look of Silver Surfer youd be worried about, that would mostly be done green screen and cgi if im being honest, the thing with surfer is he would have to have a real distinctive voice, youd have to be able to emote and bring out the pain of the character, basically because of the style of language he uses its very philosophical (sp?) almost shakespearian if you get my drift. such a complicated character to being to the screen quite possibly to complicated. If you do it make sure you do it great or not at all as i say.

Having said that Vin wouldnt be bad, Zane aswell but I wouldnt mind Hugo Weaving. BUT he is essentially doing this with V for Vendetta as you never see his face from behind the mask, according to reports his voicework in that film is out of this world but with it essentially being the same type of deal i cant see it happening.

Ryan Reynolds has my vote. He has the physicality and the presence.

^ sorry but that's pretty ******ed.

By "physicality" I'm assuming you're talking about having a muscular body. That isn't even a requirement. It's going to be all rendered. Not a guy with silver spraypainted onto his abs.

Reynolds range isn't good at all for this role. This isn't a case where I'm blasting a choice because it isn't mine. I could think of half a dozen actors who I think could work and am open to many more. But not Ryan Reynolds.

If you want to go for someone who's about Reynolds age, I'd say the best would be Heath Ledger. For one because he's shown he can open movie successfully, a couple times now in a row. And an even better reason is that he's playing a famous surfer Gregg Noll in an upcoming movie directed by Stacy Peralta. And it's always cool and often advantagous to see those little in connections with movies, those sort of homages to other things people do, it can often help them cross promote because people talk about those things they deem interesting.

You know who would do a good silver surfer? Quentin Torantino!
