Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

She is definitely an attractive human being, that can't really be argued, but I can see how she wouldnt be someone's type. People like different features and all that.

... anyway! Getting back on topic...looking forward to the full length trailer...and that should come out fairly soon in the next month or two, I imagine.

We are not talking about enough info, we are talking about the imagery, editing and energy of the teaser. The first Sin City teaser was amazing. This wasn't even close.

Yeah, we arent judging the whole movie, just this teaser which was lacklustre. And again, I agree that Rodriguez isnt the director he was in 2005, he hasnt made many good movies since which is a worry.

I used to love Alba, now I find her very 'meh.' In 2005 she was at the peak of her powers looks wise, since she has gone too skinny IMO. In 2005 one look at her and I would melt, now she literally does nothing for me.

At the same time though, I have never found her to be a bad actress, just not a particularly good one either.

Alba was a big crush of mine. But her work didn't really inspire that to continue.

Like I said before, I'm not a fan of her acting overall. However, I found her to be "acceptable" in the first movie and I expect to find her acceptable her as well. Also, she still looked pretty sexy to me in the teaser.

Maybe thats why my attraction to her waned as well. But yeah, in 2005 she was my personal number 1.
As a little kid, I had huge crushes on Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Alyssa, Milano, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Alba. Only the first two really continued past my early teens.

She will be more a lead here. She has to be more then "acceptable" imo.

I thought it was pretty solid teaser! Really liked seeing the return of familiar faces from the first film and the new ones! The visuals still hold quite nicely, imo.

I don't think Machete Kills was all that bad, but it seems like Rodriguez has been stuck in this ''b-movie style'' rut for a while now.

...and his next film, Nerveracker, will have that style too(according to him), which I personally don't have a beef at all with. On the other hand, I'm very eager to see the style he'll use for his Fire and Ice remake.

What about the From Dusk Till Dawn tv series that's starting soon, doesn't look all that great either.

I'm actually very curious to see how that is.

This teaser offered more of the same. No more, no less. But, I do agree RR's current track record is something to worry about. That, and normally when something is in development hell for a long time, and eventually happens...it doesn't turn out great. I think the worry that the "creative spark" isn't there is a valid concern. But, I don't think we can judge that from the trailer. All this said is "Hey guys! Remember that sleeper movie you liked? We finally made a sequel! See it!!!!" I think a full trailer will tell us way more about the film's overall direction.

So it looks like Hartigan's "ghost" is narrating the Nancy revenge story. That's clearly Willis saying "One day she'll pull the trigger".

Agreed. There's not even a full minute of actual footage here. This did the job of announcing and showing some quick madness. That's all it was intended for.

So teasers should only have positive reactions?

Of course not. It's just some of the complaints, like the editing I think are silly. For a teaser trailer at least. If the final trailer was edited like that, then I would agree with people who might complain about it. For a teaser I don't see it as a problem. I'm not saying teasers should only have positive reactions, it's just that teasers are basically announcement trailers.

Yeah I know what you're all talking about. I brought up "enough info" because of the editing complaints. How fast the cuts were and it was a bit all over the place trying to show as many characters as possible. I can understand how it seems a bit sloppy but I still think it's fine for a teaser. As I said to Terminator, if this is how they edited the final trailer, I would agree that it wasn't the best way to edit it.

Teaser's alright, I'm beyond stoked anyhow so it doesn't really matter. Definitely eager to see the new stories too, especially JGL's section but Alba's could go either way

Is it just me (it could just be me) or does this trailer make this movie look a bit... cheap? Especially as a sequel to such a visually stunning film. And it's even more lackluster when you compare it to that first trailer for the first film. To this day, I don't think I've ever watched a trailer so many times as I watched that original Sin City trailer... and that was before Youtube took off!

Rodriguez did mention this will more stylized than the first movie but I hope that doesn't mean they'll go overload on the CG effects by trying to emulate the comics.

The style is pretty much the same, but he's using inferior cameras; not a technical level, but on a visual level and of course, the bread and butter of films - esp the ones like Sin City - is the way it looks.

Very excited for this film. I'm so glad Rourke decided to come back for it. I just wish Josh Harnett came back. The Salesman is such an interesting character and would've liked to see him be expanded on.

Damn you, August, for taking so long!

I can give the trailer a pass just because I really wanna go back to that universe.

She's a 4 at best, Sam, and you know it. :o
