Sly Cooper 4 anyone?

Wow this is launching at $40? I assumed it was a typical $60 release

Can't wait, we're just a month away and that price makes it that much better.

Figures that my PlayStation just got the YLoD. And I'm currently not employed at the moment. :csad:

GameStop, Amazon, and Best Buy have had Thieves in Time (PS3) listed for $60 since they started listing it. As of this writing it is still there.

Maybe that's gonna be the PSN price. If Sony has changed the MSRP, those other retailers will most likely have their info updated by release date

Probably haven't updated their information yet, according to one of the posts on the PS blog.

Anyway that's $20 more toward something else.

A full-featured Sly cartoon could be pretty cool with the proper writers since they would have to crank out more material. The characters and general story felt like something out of one already.

Part 2 and 3 of the animated short are also out. A different media outlet got a different part.

Part 1 - IGN
Part 2 - Game Informer
Part 3 - GameSpot

Yeah, they were pretty good. Only complaint was Muggshot not walking with his enormous hands. :oldrazz:

Observations and tips about the demo

-It takes place at the very beginning. It's a tutorial area.
-It might be my imagination but the platforming using the circle button after a jump is more lenient or forgiving than the past games.
-I like the main musical motif and how it shows up every now and then in the midst of other music.
-The computer room in the sewer has some interesting writing on the board.
-The characters and environments have some decent animation going on here and there. The colors really pop.
-The loading screen is unfortunately sparse. It needs a better presentation.
-One Sly mask is hidden in Sly's part. The other one is in Bentley's.
-How to play as Murray: The circle button is your friend. Stomping the ground will let Murray pick up the closest object (or enemy) for you to you to throw at enemies. I find it just way easier if you play that way instead of close-range punching.
-Hey! It's a Sly game. It's not going to change the minds of anybody that didn't like the past 2 games. It's been 8 years since the last new one and not much else exists like this that's new out there.

I played the demo yesterday and absolutely enjoyed it! I'm glad Sony still has exclusive platformers. They were the first genre of game I played and still my favorite.

Just a little word of warning to everyone: the ending has been LEAKED, so be careful where you go today.

Yeah once I read recently the game was being sold early in some places I bowed out of all the new Sly Cooper game-related web pages...besides this one, anyway.

Yeah.

Most of the vids I've posted aren't really HUGE spoilers, so I'm OK with those. But the ending...I'm not linking that one, and if you want to watch it, you can lurk around the net a bit.

There's also Bentley's Hackpack released in the PSN Store. The demo gives you 9 levels for free. The full version is $2.99. It's a collection of minigames like a top-down twin-stick shooter as well as a side-scrolling twin-stick shooter. There's another third type of game in the demo that uses the six axis motion controls. I found that one (unsurprisingly) the most difficult to play in the demo. What I played of the twin-stick shooter stuff was great. The interface to access all these games is a classic arcade game room. On the title screen to the game, if you don't hit any buttons, it'll show you a bunch of little vignettes involving the Sly characters. There's quite a lot of them.

I wanted to buy the retail game yesterday of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time in a store, but I am ill and didn't end up going anywhere. I just ordered the game online so I have to wait for it to be delivered now.
