Way, way back when I was in a band in Utah, this hot chick toured through.
She was hitting on my singer and they were hanging out but then nothing came of it except she gave him a little homemade comicbook made with pictures of herself and a cassette tape of her band.
It just had the "Empress" Tarot card for a cover, I believe the album was called "Empress".
Anyway, I took the tape and listened out of curiosity.
But there was one song that, holy God, was so hot.
It was just like a riff on a stand up bass, drums and then a trumpet came in, and there was a "break it down for me, fellas" part where she rapped:
"I'm wet like acid
You lie passive
I churn and I burn 'cause I'm comin' on massive"
and it was so HOT and probably not a month has gone by where I haven't sang it to myself 'cause the riff was so catchy and wicked.
So, we were moving to Seattle, going through the stuff, and I've got the CASE.....but no tape.

And of course no one can even remember her name and apparently she never "made it" in the subsequent years 'cause googling the info we
do have gets you nothing.
This has happened a lot with the really good unknown bands I've known, heard or met over the years....with their little self-produced cassette tapes.
Like, there was this insane-genius band back in the 90's called "The Wooden Slats".
They actually, as a band, recorded their album while on a bunch of acid and it's hilarious.
Pretty sure I'll never hear them again.
So Boo-HOO to all you "my tape broke and the song's not on iTunes. I might have to go to Barnes and Noble and actually BUY it!

" - People.
