Sons of Anarchy - Part 1

I think Sutter said it is but I doubt that means any kind of crossover.

Some of the same gangs have been mentioned (the One-Niners for example) but I doubt we'll be seeing a crossover just due to the amount of Shield actors who have shown up already in SOA. I was excited for the prospect of Vic showing up in his ICE job when SOA first began, but as the show has gone on the prospect feels less and less likely. These days I'm happy with SOA being it's own thing.

Oh they take place in the same universe no doubt. And personally, I don't think the actors showing up as different characters automatically means they couldn't show up on here as their Shield characters. Personally, I think basically all of FX's dramas take place in the same universe with maybe a couple exceptions. I can see The Shield, SOA, Justified, Terriers, The Bridge etc. All taking place in the same universe. Now, I dunno it Nip/Tuck or Rescue Me or even American Horror Story could fit there but I definitely know that D!rt and Nip/Tuck could have done an amazing crossover. Sucks The Riches and D!rt were so unjustly cancelled.

I missed that. :p I was wondering what he was watching.

I wouldn't mind Raylan Givens showing up in Charming. :)

Juice was watching an episode of The Shield in lock-up.

That's right! I completely forgot about that. It was Vic and Corrine arguing about their son's tuition, I believe.

There's your doubt, Eklypze :oldrazz:

That hardly rules it out. You don't know if that fictional tv station was airing a fictional tv show that just so happened to star fictionalized versions of Michael Chiklis and Cathy Cahlin Ryan.

No, I guess not, though I'm pretty sure Vic says Corrine's name during the scene. runawayboulder mentioned he thought Kurt Sutter had said the two shows exist in the same universe, in which case I'll definitely take that as gospel. Still, until we get some sort of 100% confirmation, it's entirely up in the air.

Well, yea it's totally up in the air but come on man. The one-niners are in both shows. That's the biggest one for me right there. And I'm not saying that it's fact or considered canonical that they exist in the same universe. I just kinda like to think in my head that they do. A lot of F/X's shows fit with each other tone wise. Rescue Me is really the only show from them that I can think of that hasn't had much of a counter part in terms of tone. Maybe The Riches but that's a real stretch. But the crime shows I mentioned or even Damages and especially Nip/Tuck and D!rt all just feel to me like they could exist together.

They could easily do the marshalls connection with Lee Toric.

Make it happen, Sutter!

It could work so good too! This crossover would be so ****ing awesome. Seeing Jax and Raylan square off would be insane. Or Clay and Boyd scheming together or something. Could totally picture it in my head. Plus, I bet money there's a Ky charter. We have bikers here in western Ky. Bet it's a lot worst in eastern Ky. Them dudes are crazy out there

Well you did say "there's no doubt." :D

But yeah, there's evidence for and against. I'm with you, I'd like to think they're in the same universe as well. Seeing a Kentucky SOA chapter appear in Justified or Raylan turn up for a story arc in SOA would be gold. At the same time I recognize that Sutter and co might just use some of the same elements for fun or convenience. Either way, I'm happy!

According to Charlie Hunnam
The IRA will have a huge role in Season 6. He said he's working a lot with the actor that plays Galan, and doesn't have as much time with Donal Lounge.

I can't wait to see more of Donal Logue. Dude has been one of my fav actors since his MTV Jimmy The Cab Driver days

Here's one for ya James. Phil from SOA has shown up on Raising Hope wearing his kutte. Furthermore, My Name Is Earl is seen on tvs multiple times in the show and characters from MNIE have shown up on the show. Just demonstrating that shows existing as shows in other shows along with characters from show A showing up in show B is not unprecedented.

Ok now you've just made me read that over like 100 times and now I'm not sure it even makes sense. Damn you!

You seems to have one too many shows in there. Almost saying that show A is actually a show in the universe of Show B.

Moo hoo ha ha! That was my plan all along!

Although completely derailing the thread was just a happy side effect. Moving on, nothing to see here folks...

So uh, how about that Jax?

But seriously, it sounds like Donal Logue won't be in the show all that much this season, and I really thought they were building him up to the big villain this go round. I'm pretty excited to see where all of this goes, because there is a heck of a lot going on in SOA right now.

Don't know if this counts as a spoiler, but here goes-

A dark, violent twist at the end of Sons of Anarchy‘s Sept. 10 premiere took center stage Friday at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour, with series creator Kurt Sutter conceding that the event will likely raise a few eyebrows.
Choosing his words carefully so as not to outright spoil the episode, Sutter — who was joined by series stars Charlie Hunnam and Katey Sagal — told reporters, “I’ve wanted to do that story for about three years. I know obviously that it would be somewhat controversial, but I feel like as much as I wouldn’t do something because it was controversial, I’m also not going to do something because it is [controversial]… It’s an organic story to our world; thematically it’s the right fit.
“I will also say that there’s a lot of blood and guts in my show — it’s a signature of the show,” he continued. “But I feel like nothing is done gratuitously. This is a story that’s not being done to be sensational… It is truly the catalyst for the final act of our morality play. It sets everything in motion for this season that will ultimately lead to the end that then will bring us into the final season and what I see as the ultimate comeuppance of everything in terms of the series.”
