That's what's so great about this show, they don't show blood or have cursing and what not so the kids can enjoy it, but it's still a very serious show that adults can watch. The humor is top notch and not overly childish and the fight scenes are spectacular. I am over 20 years old and I'm not ashamed to say that the original series is one of my all time fav shows, and this one is shaping up really nicely as well.

Every now and again they have a bad joke, but they are few and far between.

Yeah, I have started re-watching the original series, currently on episode 3 of season 2.

I also started from the beginning a while back, still on the first half of season 1 though.

I had my dad watch the original series with me a year or two ago, and he really liked it. Now I get up on Saturday mornings to watch LOK with him. I'm 19 years old watching Saturday morning cartoons with my dad; GET ON MY LEVEL!

Now that's awesome :woot:

I'm 32 and watch this show, and I was watching Last Airbender before my kids were old enough for it. My oldest is 6. I have almost never stopped watching cartoons.

Yeah I don't know any kids that watch it, except for my cousin. Other than that it's other adults (and not just Korra, but cartoons in general lol)

I got my brother into A:TLA(he is 22 now) now we watch lok

I hope we hear something about a 2nd season pick up in a few months.

The latter 14 episodes will be the 2nd season. Anything beyond that is unknown. But if the story is finished after 26 episodes I hope those two do not give into the pressure of unnecessarily continuing it past that.

The episode was great. Again. There hasn't been an episode yet that hasn't been short of spectacular. LoK has firmly cemented itself as the best cartoon on TV within 6 episodes.

Lin was so badass this episode. Loved the Spider-Man style metalbending.

Also, am I the only one who feels Tarlok either is Amon or secretly working with him?

The pro bending commentator/recap guy has become my favorite character now.

"He's coming right at me, folks!"

Lol at broadcasting his assault.

That's up there with Sokka's cactus juice moment.

"I belive I'm about to be electrocuted. I'm currently wetting my pants."

That announcer guy is great.

Though I still don't get what Tenzin was doing during the fight.

Tenzin's sort of like Professor Xavier at this point. I mean, if Xavier wanted to he could have stopped a fight or saved the world a couple of hundred times by doing some mental shutdown thing. Instead he tends to stay in the background more.

Moreover, I doubt Tenzin was raised as a warrior. He isn't. You can see he takes a mostly passive stance of things which is in keeping with his monk upbringing. Most likely he was helping to evac the building when the glass ceiling threatened to fall over everyone's heads.

Hey, a thread that overshoots the 1000 post mark in the Anime thread? We're in virgin territory here folks!

Wasn't Tenzin one of the many ones that were knocked out by the electricity attacks?

I think he recovered when Bei Fong called out to him. After that my memory gets blasted by the awesomeness that was the fight scene on the roof.

Still don't get why he didn't pitch in during the fight. Lin and Korra were about to throw down with some dangerous guys and we know Tenzin cares about both of them very much. He even could've used his airbending to propel himself up there in some way. Seems inevitable he and Amon are going to have to face each other at some point.

Inevitable? Maybe. Maybe it will just be two men spouting philosophy at each other.

It could be anything. Why be upset over the build-up?

I'm putting my faith in the creators on this. They have yet to let me down and I'm not going to 2nd guess them. Rather, I'm just going to sit back and be amazed and entertained.

When I say face each other I meant in the most general sense. They could be sitting down and having tea or trying to kill each other. So far I do see it as inevitable because its been hinted that Tenzin is hiding something about Amon, don't what but he knows more than he's telling Korra. Also I feel like one of the major characters(that can bend) attached to Korra is going to fall victim to Amon and Tenzin is certainly a candidate.

Since everyone's placed down their 2 yuans on the subject, allow me to take a shot at the "Amon Identity" theory. Say Amon's story is true, face gets burnt by a Firebender. All that rage and hate attracts Tenzin who tries to be all monk-like and spiritual. Invites Amon to become an Acolyte to learn inner peace and spirituality. Somehow manages to travel to the Spirit World or learns about the Spiritbending either through hearsay or historical records. Decides he was chosen to bring "Peace" and "Balance" to the world by literally leveling the playing field. Who knows, maybe Amon represents the complete anti-thesis to the Avatar. The Spiritual aspect that Korra completely lacks.

I can only imagine how epic the season finale is going to be. Maybe we'll get our first glimpse of Korra finally in the Avatar State!

As interesting and exciting as all these Amon theories are, am I the only one who wants his identity kept a secret for as long as possible? I heard that the creators had a different villain in mind for season 2, and I'm not so sure I like that. It would feel very separate from the "legend" aspect that's being created for Korra in this specific time in history. Unless the villain is spawned by these very events created by Amon and the Equalists. Then I can see the Amon problem being the start of something much bigger.

I suppose they're saving him for a big scene. But it did seem odd. Especially since he's one of the only characters who can actually fly.

I assume he must be fairly powerful, being Aang's son, and the only airbending master in the entire world.

Aside from the Avatar State we never really got to see how truly powerful an airbender cab be. Aang was still pretty young in the first series and his skills would've developed a lot more as he became older I assume. With Tenzin being as old as he is I expect the two creators to show some new stuff as they did with the metalbending by Lin.

I actually don't like dwelling on who Amon is under the mask. Truth be told, I tend to give all the theories about the said character a sideways look. What the character is doing now and how his actions are going to affect the future is the clincher for me.

If the creators want to flesh out the character, maybe make an Amon Gaiden® series to put to rest all the theories, sure thing. Just don't be surprised if it gets the same response as Wolverine's "Origin" series from Marvel a couple of years back.
