Can someone please shoot Galen. What a ****!
You would think the IRA would send someone without having anything resemble Irish on them.

The issue is that it is very disruptive to the viewer. Big gaps are bad for folks with short attention spans. What if it's a situation like Mad Men where the creator is cool with doing the split and still writes his story his way? What's the issue then?
What's the issue with people not wanting to wait a year during an artificial, unnecessary gap in the final season? What if it's a situation like Mad Men where the creator is cool with doing the split and still writes his story his way? What's the issue then?

Not really, but nice reply.Wow, waiting in between seasons must be a ***** and a half for you

I mean, I do get it kind of. But it's not really much different than just having a wait between seasons. I honestly think that if the creator is okay with it, and feels he can do still do what he wanted to do, I don't think it's an issue. If anything, I think it's a better alternative to having to stretch out a single season story over two or three more full seasons just to keep the gas going.
Because a season's narrative shouldn't have an artificial one year gap in it just to milk the hell out of the series. If you're gonna start the season finish the damm season. Dont stop mid season for a year just to get another quasi psuedo season out of the show. That's just how I feel about it tho. I like stories to be effecient and effective in their delivery and flow. This splitting seasons into two halves with a one year gap is neither of those things and purely a business and profit motivated thing. I understand tv is a business, but this trend is one of the more obnoxious bottom line oriented tactics.
I'm surprised Jax and the gang didn't, either. The moment they set the call time it was obvious that something would happen.... But I didn't see that coming...
There's a point to it. It was left as a calling card, so when the cops find it and it's in the papers it ups the street cred. It was like leaving a signature and say don't f**k with us.

I grasp it fine, but as you said, it's very minor. Definitely not something worth *****ing about, nor losing respect for a company or whatever, especially if the creator is okay with it.A minor inconvenience, but you seem unable to grasp a basic idea of why it might be a problem for this to be a growing trend among tv series and networks trying to squeeze every last drop out of them.

Good catch, I missed that detail.Apparently, the shamrock pen at the end was the same type as the one "Not Lefty" uses to write the address down for Jax at the beginning of the ep.
It can be disorienting. When I bought the latest season of Walking Dead, it opened with them finding the prison. Because the season had been split, that event felt like it was TWO seasons ago.I don't like it....
Walking Dead is getting ready to start airing the next season this Sunday. They split the previous season and I hated it. I don't retain like I used to so for me, breaking seasons up like that make me lose interest. It's gotta have a strong cast for me to want to jump back in. Sons is starting to fizzle for me some, so there would have to be a big cliffhanger right at the break to ensure I return.I don't follow the Walking Dead. Is it on it's last season? Or are they just splitting seasons up?
I mean, just to be clear, I'm not a fan of doing it, but it just doesn't bother that much. I just think of it in the same way I do waiting from season to season. Though I do think it can be a better alternative than just dragging out a story over full seasons, which can tend to ruin shows sometimes.
The more I play this vid, the more I like this song.SOA always features great music. I love that opening montage set to this song. Set the mood.
