:awesome:

Doesn't sound like he was too happy playing the character with the circumstances he was in. I'm sure he was genuine about taking on the role as he said many times, but it doesn't seem like it was fulfilling for him completely. Then the public comments about just echoing statements of disappointment on the final cut of the film, he seemed like he was soured by the material he had.

Yes, I'm sure. I think he was probably burned by the mixed reaction to the first (and its editing mess) and then absolutely tired of all it by film two, which was even messier. Take that, add in the underperformance and the fact that Emma was now gone, I doubt he had a lot of affection left. Though it seems mutual.

Andrew is an actor, obviously, and imo a very good one. BUT, he's also by his own admission a huge Spidey fan. Imagine if it was you in his shoes. A big fan of Spidey and when you finally get your dream chance to play Peter and Spider-Man, you end up in the franchise that was basically so bad that it's over in 2 movies and already being rebooted. Especially after this being the reboot of the first franchise. I completely empathize with Andrew.

Absolutely. I'd want out, too. It's a real bittersweet pill I imagine. Living out that dream but it not being what you'd hoped, probably happier leaving it behind and trying to move forward.

Quite an educated group, I love ign! The three of them could have just walked out of one of our discussions

The unintentional insult.

Gee, that one just sounds so weird. Like they are an elite group that knows what's best.

lol. She called IGN an educated group. Oh man. My aching sides.

This has been one of the most informative and entertaining threads ever. My god Avi Arad has a huge ego. And he hasn't even earned it.

The Sinister Six ideas, it sounded like the ending was the set up for Spidey and Ock becoming enemies. They said emotionally the SS was Ock's movie. Still glad that movie never saw the light of day. The Sinister Six should be formed because Spidey and Ock are enemies, as well as the other villains also hating Spidey.

Wow, the Andrew situation got bad and fast. Sounded like he was desperate to escape.

Can you blame him.

Confirmation that ANSEL ELGORT, Dylan O'Brien and Logan were all rumored to take over the Spider-Man role before the deal was made:

Did you all noticed what I did? TOM ROTHMAN was the guy suggesting these actors. TOM ROTHMAN, from the same mastermind behind Wolverine: Origins. Jesus Christ, may the force be with Kevin Feige and Spider-Man.

ALSO: Make sure to watch #MeetTheMoviePress tomorrow:

It might be Spider-Man related, here comes a new challenger, perhaps...?

Bittersweet indeed. The heartbreak must have been intense much like a difficult break-up in a relationship. Andrew will be fine though. He's a very gifted actor and he'll continue to work--he's in an upcoming Scorcese flick.

Do I have to be worried about him?

I don't see issue if Tom or any one from any studio was mentioning this or that name. All the guys mentioned are some of the young up and coming or hot actors of the monent. Of course any studio would be looking at rising stars to possibly nab for a project of theres.

Got it, thanks. Hope I did not create a problem here. Was really not my intention!

Subject: Announcements concerning Deadpool Dear Bob: I’m writing to you to correct the misimpression left by reporting concerning Fox’s plans for a Deadpool motion picture. According to a September 18, 2014 report in Variety, “Fox and Marvel have slotted Deadpool, their long in development X-Men spin-off for Feb. 12, 2016.” (http://variety.com/2014/film/news/deadpool-release-date-fox-marvel-1201308783/). As you are aware, Marvel has no involvement in the decision to produce a Deadpool film, let alone when that film will be released. The article continues with the falsehood that Kevin Feige is producing the film with Lauren Schuler Donner. Kevin Feige will have no involvement in a Deadpool motion picture, should Fox decide to produce one, and we will not be designating Kevin as an executive producer for any of the films made under the X-Men license (unless we advise you otherwise). We are, however, designating Stan Lee as our executive producer for the upcoming X-Men films of which we are aware are in production (i.e., Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse). Additionally, Tom Cohen who was designated as Associate Producer should be removed from any credits. We can’t determine, of course, the extent to which that misimpression was created or fostered by Fox, but please ask your people to be careful not to imply that Marvel Studios or its personnel are producing any of theX-Men films licensed to Fox by Marvel and to correct any reports that suggest otherwise. Misrepresentations in press reports lead to inaccurate speculation that there could be cross-overs between Marvel Studios produced movies and those produced under license by Fox.

Also wanted to ask where did all the emails come from. Seeing some of the posts. Man sony is fools really have no clue or idea. Ideally I wished they would have sold rights back to marvel and wash there hands of spidey.

Feige

Hi-- How's things? We want to do a piece about Feige and Marvel and are trying to NOT go through the Disney PR apparatus to make contact. Any idea of a good way to contact him?
Hope summer was summery.
xo

You can write him directly and I will give you the email. I think he listens to the folks at Disney pretty closely. I am copying David on this note who will send you the email address.
