Why are these spin off threads in the Spider-man sequels subforum? They aren't sequels. They are cash-ins.
They should be in the Idiocy sub-forum.
because we don't have a cash-ins sub forum.

Sony is in flux right now with possible selling their film/entertainment division; so yes, they are trying to bolster their IP value for potential buyers...i've mention this before. Have no clue right now where things currently stand on the possibly sell.
However, on the agreement with Marvel & propose Spinoffs...one thing no one is considering, Feige is not interested in helping Sony with developing Venom...Venom only. He keeping saying that's their thing. 2 things:
1st...the biggest reason he does not want the MCU having anything to do with Sony's Venom, is purely because of Avi Arad. If Avi was not involve with the project or employed by Sony...there is a possibility, considerations may be different.
2nd...i've mention in previous posts that I just simply have a gut feeling that Feige would help Sony, in some capacity, big or small, with Sony's ambitions...and to clarify, I did say my hunch was not based on anything in particular, other than the amount of money at stake & the cut throat business practices(business is business). With that said, my hunch is Feige don't necessarily mind assisting, in some form, Sony with the other spinoffs, leading/building up to the Sinister Six. Avi is not involved in those productions, from what I gather.
This also give Feige/Marvel access to Spidey's gallery of villains for the HC movies & some creative influence with the spinoffs...keeping those film focus on the intended use & its possible ties to the HC films. So outside of all the very public talk, denials, & muscling...privately, there could be some real negotiation on extention & exactly what that curtails.
Keep in mind the replacement is only a mere 2yrs away. Ask yourself...whose going to be the face for the MCU, of those actor that will still be there after 2019? Who is going to be the new big bad for the MCU?
Well the biggest face right, of those that will push on, to Phase 4, right now is starting to be Tom Holland. It won't be, Captain Marvel or the Bucky's Captain America, the BP or Antman actors...it's setting up & taking shape to be Tom Holland. But wait, there's more....
Who will be the big bad for the next phases of films. Well, unless Disney agree to open the purse & get the rights to FF & all its supporting characters, villains, and all....mainly, a one Doctor Doom; Marvel really don't have a big bad to set up the next phases of films...unless they can make some villain from the GotG lore, actually interesting & compelling, like they did with Ego:The Living Planet. This leave me to considerate one other alternative.
Spiderman! And who could be the big bad from his cache ov villains? None other than the man himself...Norman Osborn. He has connections & ties all over the planet, ties to underworld figures as well, and issues with numerous of Marvel's heroes besides Spidey. Unless Marvel can get Doom, there is no viable follow up to Thanos, that I can think of, than Norman's vast empire...and this time the threat would be home grown(terrestrial)
So Marvel need to extend the share agreement for access; and Sony is beginning to figure that out. Feige is more likely to help on spinoffs, not involving Avi & Venom.....unless Avi leaves. Feige said that it was the plan all alone for Holland to be the face & HC2 the start of phase 4....that came from his mouth. Think about it.

Just wait until Pascal experiences some insomnia and starts making comments about Venom existing in the DC, Star Trek, and Twilight universes.
because we don't have a cash-ins sub forum.
So you're looking for more of a Lex Luthor type character?Let me clarify something...when I say Norman as the big bad for Phase 4 moving forward...everyone is thingies Green Goblin. NO...that is not what I'm saying...certainly, there will be a powerful villain to fight or a team/ensemble of bad guys...but when I say Norman...I'm strictly talking about the corporate, political, ties to underworld, science, research, & development, figure with world wide clout & influence Norman Osborn.
Since Marvel can't get access to bigtime, powerful villains that the FF has...Doom for an example, tell me who Feige has that can carry a series of crossover films, throughout a possible Phase 4 & maybe 5, to its conclusion.
Marvel needs the extension agreement just as much as Sony need the agrrement...for different reasons of course, but a must neitherless.
Feige said that these last few films, including Spidey's sequel, is going to determine the next phase of films...Feige, himself, call HC2 Spidey's civil war....that tells me Spidey is going to be the face of the MCU moving forward...which I'm suggesting the Phase 4 big bad may have ties to him. That's all I'm saying...Norman will be the guy, behind the guy(big bad), be terrestrial or not....because alien tech is scatter all over the place for mischievous persons/groups/entities to get....Tomes got some. Norman has the power, means, & influence to get his hands on stuff that can later become a threat.
So you're looking for more of a Lex Luthor type character?
Marvel would probably do a better job than DC did with the actual Luther character.

Didn't you get the memo? Marvel has a villain problem.
I guess this isn't the thread to discuss this anywayWell he's not wrong lol
I know how you feel man. But it seems there's no stopping this insanity this time. After watching homecoming I want this movie cancelled asap. I want to see venom interact with this Spider-Man and this world. If freaking vulture can be that intense then venom and goblin would be absolutely amazing. I expect pascal to say something dumb in the next coming weeks sadly .

Agreed. Even though due to Hardy I've been accepting the inevitable, they really need to do whatever they can to get in Kevin Feigie's good graces and make a movie tied to the MCU.
Keaton and crew murdered Marvel's villain problem and if the future of Spidey villains is anything like this, they'll get more mileage if they have HardyBrock connected to Holland's verse. People will roll their eyes and get them stuck like Liz Lemon did in an episode of 30 Rock if the Sony flicks cast another Spider-man in the shadow of Holland's performance and universe.
It's insanity. Venom and Eddie Brock's whole drive, Venom's whole creation is his drive to destroy Spider-Man.
