I'm just stating that you're wrong with saying TSSM did their arcs very close. They only borrow, as B:TAS did. And that's not a problem at all; they picked out the better parts of a story and added their own elements to it.

As far as my view on this... I'm not entirely decided yet. I'll have to watch TAS a few more times before I say. But from what I remember from both, I think SSM was better simply because I felt like it had more to offer me. There was more sub-text. More adult content for me to laugh at and notice.

And AGAIN. I am a Batman fan more than anything else, so don't even try to say that I'm just being a dumb fangirl, okay? I actually take in the facts and write out the results, based on what I think.

This argument is going around and around and around...I only said that B:TAS makes adaptations from arcs as well as TSSM and TSSM doesn't do their arc adaptations the best or anything, because we always see arcs and stories being adapted with animated cartoons. It's the norm.

Lol...I'm a reader, I love to read. My favorites are the Divine Comedy and Canterbury Tales, so, I will think otherwise. Reading gives us knowledge; not TV, not films.

As far as preference, I'm with you, Anno. I've been a reader since first grade and in my mind nothing beats reading a good book outside in the summer air. But when it comes to emotional value movies and TV really are the superior art form simply because they use so many different elements that could never be on paper. You get to see emotion on faces and hear sad or scary music, you get colors and movement and all kinds of STUFF that you don't get in books. Of course in books you get other things that you never get in movies. Such as different points of view (which could be argued, but POV in a book vs POV in a movie is different in and of itself), extra information from the characters that couldn't ever be told in a movie, length, since movies are very rarely over 2 and a half hours long and they many times have to cut chunks out of books if they make it into a movie. Plus in a book you get to use your brain. Your imagination to create images and things like that. You get vocab and all that fun stuff. I dunno. I like books better, but they're not always "better"

And i've learned more things form a movie then I have form a book. I can't even till how many times my buddy kunz has tried to pull some cool fact that he had learned from reading a book a couple of times and I not only know but was able to finish the fact for him.

Took him 1 hour of reading me 1 line form a movie.

Does that mean movies are always right no. does it mean books are better no.

When it comes down to it film video games are the better art.

If it was any different then books would out sell movies and video games and they don't. And I'm a writer I writer love writing not this kind of writing I like to take my time and think.

video games are becoming just as cinematic as films, I personally Don't think a video game is a better art then a book I'm say how the general public feels. Me and two friends are the only people I know that read book for enjoyment.

Films need no translation. People who watch hear the music they see the faces of the ch. they feel the move of the camera. I have read tons of books there are some books I would rather read then spend my time watching certain movies.

But we are off subject hear I'm not saying that the tssm is better then btas it can't be btas has 85 episodes while tssm has 26. But if saying if we level the playing field tssm now becomes better if we reduced the number of episodes to 26 then I feel tssm wins.

I love Batman much more than I love Spidey which is still quite a lot to Spidey 'cause my Batman is my favorite superhero... but I'm going to have to with The Spectacular Spider-man. Batman TAS is a classic and unfortunately because TSSM's run got cut short it can never reach that status.

The reason it wins is 'cause of the great storyline. I might be biased 'cause I like continuity (but I guess that's balanced out with my love of Batman and nostalgia), but the writing and plot in this series is awesome! Every episode has something to add and has something entertaining. The episodes build upon each other as tension grows to make epicness on such great scale.

The interaction between characters is awesome something which I find lacking in Batman where Robin and Batgirl weren't the best supporting characters in the series- I definitely preferred it when Bats went solo.

Another big thing is the characterization of the main character. I love how we get into Peter's head vs. the 3rd POV we always got with Bats. That marks some major points of B:TAS because I always love getting into the psych of my superheros.

Overall I find TSSM is more consistent in its entertaining value and more engaging with it's supporting cast and the more personal focus on the main character's life rather than a story with the characters in them. The only thing is I find TSSM and B:TAS are equal in amount of epic moments. If TSSM had continued, I'm sure it would have surpassed B:TAS with the amount of epic moments it was sprouting per season.

Well I am not exactly a newbie t: but I guess Marvel Animation Age says it the best in its review of the last episode of the Spectacular Spider-man:​

And there we have it, all 26 episode of Spectacular Spider-Man concluded, and we are still without an announcement of season three. With Hobgoblin, Scorpion (who was announced in this episode, someone actually remembered Gargan was a PI before he was a supervillain) confirmed and a possible follow up to the gang war I can only hope we see this show continue for a long, long time. If we do only get 26 episodes, we should find some happiness in the fact that it was simply spectacular throughout. At time of writing, the Spectacular Spider-Man stands as Marvel’s finest animated effort and surpasses most of DC’s finest efforts – the only shows in Spectacular’s league really, is Batman: The Animated Series itself. With more episodes, it may just surpass it. We can but hope!​

Ok I announce it right here that I am Persian/unicorn/animoured. and I would like to say that I am so very sorry that I created multiple names to praise myself. what I did was childish and won't be repeated. the fact that I am still able to post here means that I have passed my probation and that I haven't done anything wrong since my third name was banned and C. Lee (the SHH! Global Moderator)can testify to that (you can ask him). and you can scratch 2 of the votes off that poll for TSSM. But I swear to God I had nothing to do with the allegations that the Joker is making against me here.
