Looks unimpressive. I'll be skipping this one too I guess.
what I liked about the trailer:
1) ASM's new design (wish we got something like that for the movie)
....and that's it. Like everyone else has said, this looks like a rehash of SD, which IMO, is not a game worth rehashing.
I really hate the art direction for these Spidey games. Ever last one. All the bad guys and levels look like they came from the scribbles thrown away by a 12 year old trying to come up with a "cool super villain for an original comic", only to realize that he has no drawings skills and a limited imagination. They're supremely generic and ironically overly designed B-grade art. I hate, hate, hate it. They really need a new design team for this ****.
****.
Maybe it's just me, but what game has cool enemies? They are always generic.
You misunderstood me. I was saying that all the enemies look like some kid without talent trying to make "cool" characters, but he sucks at drawing and has no imagination. In short, no SM game has cool enemies - they're all generic POS designs. You misunderstood me. Oh! But do you mean henchmen? Or bosses?
The henchmen don't look like anything so I don't know why that would annoy you and no villain was shown...
So were most of the enemies from Arkham Asylum, and at the end of the day, it didn't really matter.
Henchmen...bosses....backgrounds....take your pick of any aspect of the art direction from all the games. It all sucked.
While there were only 10 or so designs for the henchmen, at least the designs were GOOD. Something the SM games can't say.

I thought the art direction in Shattered Dimensions were great, and it was a something that was mention in a lot of reviews so I'm not alone. Sure I can agree on the mooks looking generic, but most of the bosses were straight from the comics, so if one have a problem with their design it can hardly be blamed on the devs. (I'm glad they kept the bosses looking like their comic book counterparts, it always feels weird when they don't IMO. I.E. robot Rhino outside the ultimate universe.)
OK, OK. I believe you. You're the professional artist, I'm the aspiring artist. You have more say than me.
Admittedly, my beef with the art direction is less when discussing the bosses, but they do tend to take some amount of creative freedom with the bosses (naturally). I just don't like the overall aesthetic that Spidey in game form has. Its your generic, hyper stylized design from a 12 year old's home made comic book, that can fit in any poor quality video game. Its like they don't give the designs anymore thought than the first pass.

Both Amazing and Spidey 2099 are also likely to benefit from an improved camera, which Beenox has designated as one of their top priorities.

This is good news:

I didn't have too much of a problem with the camera, but it doesn't hurt to fix so...AWESOME!![]()
