Spider-Man: Edge of Time - Part 1

I've never really liked Steve Blum's high pitched Green Goblin voice. I mean of course, Green Goblin is extremely theatrical and all but it just sounds too unnatural even for him if you ask me. Dafoe's voice in the movie game was almost perfect imo.

I think having a high pitched voice kinda takes away from the character's menance.

It worked for the cartoon but the movie voice was great for it's medium. If only the movie suit didn't LOOK like a cartoon...

Personally, I love both Steve Blum and Willem Dafoe's Goblin voices and I would love for either one of them to voice Goblin. in terms of animated shows, I really think Steve Blum's voice surpasses Spider-Man TAS's Goblin voice.

Though I liked Dafoe's Goblin in the movie, ultimately I have to go with Blum's take. It was very manic, high-pitched, and energetic, but it could also hit a lower pitch to emphasize on menace. Not to mentioned it worked to show that Norman and Goblin are very different from each other, and Norman was doing a successful job in making a persona VERY different from his own.

Another Spidey villain that hasn't had a shot at video games yet is Tombstone. Unlike Hammerhead, he doesn't have an exploitable gimmick to use in a video game beyond his super strength. Hope they find a way to fit him into the game, though, and if possible, use his crime lord position from Spectacular. Even hire Keith David or Kevin Michael Richardson to reprise the role.

^^If they make Tombstone as awesome as he is in Spectacular Spidey and with Kevin Michael's voice, then I'm all for it.

Yea deff, Altho I'm calling for David. After his run on Spawn, I'll take him to portray any character the needs a "darker" voice. One of my fav voice overs of all time.

Actually I didn't notice the change in the voice. I didn't know two people had voiced Tombstone. But it has been quite a while since I last watched the show.

I'm all for having Tombstone in a game, although I would rather have him be a mook than a crime boss. There are already plenty of crime bosses they can use in 616 without having to resort to upgrading c-listers. But I wouldn't complain if they went that way, Spectacular showed it can be awesome.

And you know, I don't remember Blum's Goblin being all that high pitched. But maybe I remember wrong, I dunno.

Well, we already had both Kingpin and Hammerhead be in several video games, and Silvermane already made his debut in the Nintendo DS version of Shattered Dimensions (though as a 2099 villain). I guess Silvermane could be a more interesting boss if they used his cyborg version, but I've always been partial to Tombstone.

Yea it's hard to tell, both were great as that character, I just happen to be a big fan of Keith David, mainly due to his portrayal of Spawn.

I actually know him better from his role as Goliath in Gargoyles, one of the best shows in the 90's and a big part of my childhood. Not to mention that show was Greg Weisman's baby.

He was also in the movie They Live! and most recently played the villain Dr. Facilier in The Princess and the Frog. Had a damn nice villiain song in that movie too.

Well there's always Mr. Negative, and I guess Owl although he's more of a Daredevil villain.

Good call on Mr. Negative, I almost forgot about him. He could also be interesting, and I'd love to see how they would integrate his unique visuals to the game. His Inner Spirit henchmen could also be fun to fight.

I've been trying to figure out what other crime bosses there have been in the comics and I'm almost drawing a complete blank. There's Frederick Foswell and like, Rose but none of them strike me as boss material. And Foswell has been dead for forty years anyway.

Man, the early years of ASM felt littered with gangsters and I can't recall a single one.

But I agree, Mr. Negative could be awesome, but there is no place at all for him in Edge of Time. But in a free roam game having him controlling China Town could be great.

Crime-Master was mentioned in Shattered Dimensions, but again, nothing remarkable as boss material.

There is Don Fortunato too, but he is just an old man. Jimmy 6 would fit the bill much better but he's a good guy more or less.

Speaking of mob bosses, Digger could make a cool boss. He was that one gamma dude that contained like the dna of 13 mob guys. JMS came up with him. Come to think of it JMS came up with a lot of cool one-of characters.

Speaking of obscure Spidey villains, who the hell is this guy:

Does anyone have a clue?

HINT: This is from the 60s Spidey cartoon.

I think that's just a Shadow Monster used by the villain Phantom.

Personally, I'd prefer Dr. Noah Body or the Master Technician/Radiation Specialist. :woot:

Man, there are so many cool unused villains. I'm really excited that Beenox is trying to fit some in as it seems.

Mr. Negative (although I agree that he wouldn't really fit into this story)
Tombstone (now THAT would be something!)
Hydro-Man (could make for a really epic boss fight, trying to drown Spidey and flood the place)
Speed Demon (maybe goofy, but could make for a pretty fun boss fight or chase)
Tarantula (OK I admit, I don't know much about him but he seems cool and is one of the newer villains I think)
The Boomerang (also a goofy villain, but could still make for a fun boss that Spidey could make lots of fun about)
(Classic) Hobgoblin? (sure his 2099 version has been used but that doesn't count imo)
The Spot (IMO, he's a cool villain due to his powers, and would also make for an epic boss battle)
The Swarm (another goofy villain but could still be really cool to battle out)
The Enforcers (haven't been used as far as I know and would be pretty cool)
Trapster (just for fun)

But hey, guys, we have all forgot about......THE CHAMELEON!

I remember how many of us during the development of SD and after its release talked alot about Chameleon never making it to any game before and that he would be cool to have in a game and all. There were actually many of us wanting him in a game. Maybe Beenox listened? He's one of Spidey's most famous villains that still has never been used.

I actually think the Spot would be a cool boss battle. Being sucked through portals everywhere and being thrown through space and time make for an awesome level.
