Spider-Man: Edge of Time - Part 1

I just read interview with some guys and thats somthing there where saying is that a lot of the game still needs ploshing so thats why we haven't had anymore villains announced or have seen some of the more colorful enviorments. I'll try to find it again.

I was on a friends computer and now I'm back on mine so.

Show me and maybe I'll give you the slight of belief. Plus, not showing off any villains doesn't mean they're still polishing the game; if anything, it could also mean that they don't have many villains to show off as they did with SD. Or, and this is my preference, haha, they don't really have anything new to show us that we didn't see in SD t:

I don't even think polishing it would do any good. Not really. It was okay as a one off, and we had the one off. This will be the first Spidey game in a long time that I don't buy.

Why would they not be polishing the game? It hasnt gone gold yet. So from now until it goes gold, thats all they will be doing. Theyll be finishing the game up and polishing it before it ships. Now, obviously, they wont have that much time for polish as they are on such a short dev time, which is why these games are always filled with bugs.

Well, you watching it on YouTube may have reduced your VERY minor complaints of how the gameplay is "average".

Polishing it is what every dev does before its release, but to polish it to make it look 100% better can/will never happen only months before it is released.

Is it just me, or does this actually resembles Onimusha 3 without a little fairy?

as I said, this actually looks pretty good. However, I think it's safe to assume that we may not get a Spidey game ot it's full potential unti lthe rights leave Acticision in 2017. It's VERY obvious Beenox has the passion for SPider-Man, but it's Activision holding them back.

Spider-ManHero12 is exactly right. Activision has had the rights since the first SM game on Playstation (which was amazing for its time and fun as hell). Activision has gotten complacent cause they know that the SM games are big money makers no matter how dull they make them. Beenox tried to shake things up and give us a great game (I think they succeeded with Shattered Dimensions, cause I love that game) but until the rights leave Activision they will hold the potential back with early deadlines and not caring about the fans.

the best Spider-Man game so far, iMO, is Spider-Man 2 (2004). It was extremely fun for it's time. Activision has stopped caring for quality since then though. Alot has happened between 2004 and 2011.

I've said it once in the Spider-Man 4 video game thread and I'll say it again,

I want to like this game. I really do. But... I don't. It just looks almost exactly like Shattered Dimensions, I hated the over-exaggerated attacks that Spider-Man had in the Amazing universe, and I hate them in this aswell. Seriously, wtf is with the glowing punch and kick ****?

Glow is meh in normal attacks, and it's worse being so large

sounds like something I said awhile back and I've been saying ever since I saw the first footage:

The reason I'm not excited for this game is because it's looking to be a part of the usual Activision formula of create a game and then milk it to death with yearly iterations that don't improve much (if at all) over the previous release until the franchise is left in ruins.

Good god I hope Activision looses the rights soon...either that or they adopt a new business model (a.k.a. FIRE KOTICK). As a massive Spidey fan...I'm I'm very frustrated.

Hence the "or adopt a new business model." I sincerely doubt they'll ever let the rights go since it's such a lucrative franchise.
