While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about his latest movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp, editor Dan Lebental was asked about Far From Home, and how his work there will differ from Homecoming.
"I cant say much about the new Spider-Man but I will offer up that it will be both grander in scale and even funnier than the last one," Lebental teassed. "The rest of the story will have to wait."
Is Samuel L. Jackson all done shooting his scenes for "Captain Marvel?" Would be kind of cool to see him in a Spider-Man film. Nick Fury featured a lot in the Ultimate Spider-Man books.
Hmmm, so Peter gets killed in IW and the movie that follows up from that is gonna be funnier than Homecoming?
I'm sensing some kind of tonal inconsistency here...
It's a Spider-Man movie. It's always going to have comedy. Especially from Marvel Studios.

I'm not saying a Spider-Man movie shouldn't have comedy (it'd be a sin if it didn't), but Far From Home would be a good opportunity to explore Peter's feelings on actually dying, seeing how it affects him a bit.
Of course, that might depend on the outcome of A4 and whether he'll even get to remember or not.![]()
I agree for sure. I dont doubt that FFH will address the events of the INFINITY films. Remember, Feiges said that the INFINITY films will launch FFH the same way CIVIL WAR launched HOMECOMING. Also, I think the title FAR FROM HOME alludes to Peter and the residuals of the events of INFINITY.I'm not saying a Spider-Man movie shouldn't have comedy (it'd be a sin if it didn't), but Far From Home would be a good opportunity to explore Peter's feelings on actually dying, seeing how it affects him a bit.

This. If they get too broody about it, itll fall into TASM territory. It's a Spider-Man movie. It's always going to have comedy. Especially from Marvel Studios.

Have you ever read If This Be My Destiny, Death of Jean Dewolff, Son of a Goblin, Night Gwen Stacy Died, Venom, Death of George Stacy, Return of the Sinister Six, Maximum Carnage,The Gauntlet, Kraven's Last Hunt etc etc?The standalone movies should feel like their characters. If the events of Infinity War carry over Spider-Man, and it isn't funny because of how depressing deaths were, then we are into Batman v Superman territory where the tone doesn't fit the character of Superman.
And Spider-Man (most of all) should be bright, colorful, funny, lighthearted. At least in this current incarnation of the MCU.

Spider-Man has DOZENS of serious, dramatic stories. I don't understand the notion that some have that Spider-Man movies are supoose to be comedies. The Raimi films had the perfect time for the character
