It's probably official by now. Usually "in talks" means the deal is already in place. Hardly ever we get a "in talks" article followed by a "officially signs on" article weeks later. "In talks" is almost just as good as "confirmed"

It makes the promotion/marketing part of it more complicated. Basically, any big announcement requires both sides to sign off. Remember Captain America: Civil War? It took forever for Spider-Man to appear in a trailer because they couldn't agree on how much he should appear. But I don't think it'll slow down him signing the contract because, by all reports, that's already been done.
