Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

Calm down :hehe: your English is fine. I just got a "Well MJ already got f***ed since they turned her into Michelle but the other characters still have a shot at being good" vibe from your post :o
That was implied. :o

Depends on the direction they go with him.
We'll probably get Norman Osborn the evil mastermind. But he should still have a son.

Honestly the idea of Deadpool showing up in spider-man never made much sense to me. this probably makes more sense.

The big takeaway from this to me is the fact we're actually starting to get rumors of a MCU Spider-Man 3 which hopefully mean's the deal has been amended and well get confirmation at SDCC.
Yes, this is a huge relief. And I'm fine if they find a way for Hardy as Venom to be included, I trust the team to make it work. And Hardy deserves to be in a good movie with that role.

As for Norman, he should definitely come with Harry as a package deal and I would love Gabe to be there to, minus the better-left-forgotten "Sins Past" nonsense. There's a really incredible potential dynamic there that no one touches because of the uncomfy origin that should have been easily retconned years ago.

I cannot believe any reports that say Marvel Studios wants Hardy's Venom in their MCU.

The general consensus seem's to be that it's Sony that wants Tom Hardy in the MCU not Feige. Feige already denied the spin-offs access to the MCU back when they were developing Homecoming. I fear that Sony is gonna get annoyed if Hardy's Venom isn't allowed access to the MCU and pull out of the deal. Honestly id be open to the idea if it meant Feige ends up producing future Venom films. And we continue to get Spider-Man in the MCU. Even if it means giving Sony's bad spin-offs access to the MCU its a fair trade. However if such a deal allowed Venom and their terrible spin-offs into the MCU then I feel like Sony should at least give production rights back to Marvel while they still maintain distribution rights.

I’d like the symbiote and Venom in the MCU too, but rebooted because Sony’s attempts have been bad. If they’re going to throw him in the MCU now with Spidey just start over because you can give him a proper origin.

Thank God. I'm not as in love with the character as others, I hope he never shares a scene with Spiderman.

I believe we will still get Harry. Ned cannot replace Harry, they are not alike in any way. I think tptb might tease Norman and Harry in a post credit scene.

Sony is really out there trying to force Feige into making their crappy spin-offs part of the MCU. Parasites.

That's not what Sony is going to want, though. Sony is going to want Hardy in there as that version of Venom, especially since his movie made them boatloads of money.

I just really don't think there will be any role for harry. Ned has the best friend role and probably will remain that in the MCU. Ned is the typical MCU comic relief side kick and thats probably more attractive to them.

But then i still do not think we will get more than 3 solo movies either, so switching up the guard probably won't happen.

Avi Arad' and Sony's obsession with Venom is beyond me. Venom being retroactively part of the MCU is a terrible idea.

Yes his movie really do not fit into this Franchise.
Pls give us a new introduction in SM3

As much as I'd normally welcome Tom Hardy into the MCU...

Sony is not going to introduce a new Venom in a SM3. It's either going to be Hardy or no Venom at all. It makes no sense from Sony's perspective to do anything that will cause a BO drop in their franchise that just netted over 800 mil WW with the first movie. Having a new Venom would immediately steal Hardy's thunder and devalue that franchise. Sony will not allow that.

I'm still worried about Venom 2 and how they'll handle Carnage let alone bringing him into the mcu. Which itself is a headache for how they would manage that.

Honestly while people like to hold out hope or overconfidence with Marvel that they want to do every spider-man idea justice and faithfulness to the comics. Venom could have easily have lost just as much of what made him work under marvel too

The black suit and Venom in the MCU is going to make money regardless. Anyway, I was just sharing what I wanted to see as a fan.

Feige and Marvel Studios are notorious for the quality of their movies and Sony's Venom was a huge critical failure, I highly doubt they're going to want it associated with them. Plus I doubt they even care about having Venom in the MCU as much as Sony does. They can keep him.

The MCU one might, but Venom was one of Sony's biggest hits in years. So while in your scenario a new MCU Venom may make the MCU version money, it may derail the Venom Hardy IP. Venom 2 would likely be unaffected since a 3rd Spidey won't be out by then, but conflicting live action Venom's could harm Venom 3 or other Spider-Verse solos. So I don't see Sony doing this. Sony wants money makers outside of just Spider-Man MCU solos.

I never said Feige would want Venom in the MCU. But Sony I have no doubt does. Sony won't want a competing Venom. Feige may want a "new" Venom, but that would have to come with Sony's approval in order for Marvel Studios to do that. Why would Sony render one of their most profitable movies of the past few years, which they have big plans for, effectively useless by rebooting the character when he's proven to be a huge money maker as is? Sony won't want to derail that. So pretty much, if it isn't going to be Hardy as Venom in Spidey 3, then there just won't be any Venom at all. They'll either use someone else or just make a Spider-Man movie with no co-star if the deal renews. But we're not getting a Venom reboot come SM3.

I doubt Feige even wants anything to do with the symbiote stuff ever since sony decided to go off and make halfhearted movies about spider-man characters without spider-man himself.

Which is why I hope characters like Kraven won't get the sony treatment, because it really feels like any character who gets a sony movie will probably never be given an MCU counterpart.

If rumor is right even Feige is picking villains that have yet to be used in previous movies to be part of their sinister 6 for the next movie.

So when it comes to Feige and Venom. he will either make Venom completely different to how venom had been used previously, including what sony took from the comics. or he won't use Venom at all.

I really am curious to see how Marvel and Sony went about deciding what characters they would and wouldn't be using for their respective films.

If I was a betting man, I'd probably say it went mostly well with the exception of Sony insisting they keep Venom for themselves on the request of Avi Arad and his 20 year fixation of making a Venom movie.

And astoundingly so, the chinese box office rewarded his blind faith, life is funny that way I guess.
