Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

Hmmm... I really wanted to like it but i dont. Holland is perfect but just like with the first one, setting, changes, obligatory 'mcu guest stars'.. Those rub me the wrong way and i just cant connect to this version of the story.
Trailer is 6/10, just because action looks way better than homecoming.

I do love the irony that they are advertising he is "Far from home" in this movie when in Infinity War, he went to ANOTHER FRIGGIN PLANET!
Dat's da joke. - McBain

Mysterio is a hero? Glad Aunt May isnt in the dark. This version of Flash Thompson still makes me cringe.SFX look
pretty good. Trailer gave me Spider-Man 3 (2007) flashbacks but im in though

Well Parker's supposed to be a [graduating?] high school senior at this point.

I thought he was only a junior in this? It's not necessarily that he looks much older, but I'd like to see him a little more unpolished looking.

The fishbowl is. I don't think the suit is, even I do like it. I want the large eyes as part of the clasps for the cape.

latest
The eye pieces are there, they're just not purple so they match with the chest piece.

To be honest, Spider-Man movies don't feel like Spider-man movies without JJJ.

Mysterio obviously will turn out to be a villain.

He was a sophomore in Homecoming, then Infinity War happens about two years later (assuming you're not following the "official" chronology which still doesn't really make sense) so he'd be a senior at that point. Presumably Far From Home is at a similar point in the timeline as the latter film.

I kinda feel the same way. This supporting cast is still eh. Flash, Ned, "MJ"

He still could be a Junior. Parker is a Sophomore in Homecoming, so as long as the movie takes place before the turn of the year, this could be in the 2nd half of his Junior year. Thus it is 2 years later and he is a Junior.

Also, Pete using Uncle Ben’s suitcase, That’s a nice touch.
Glad to know he actually existed in this universe. :o

Trailer was dope. Love that fish bowl. Flash still makes me cringe, though I'm somewhat glad they put his love for Spider-Man on there. Hopefully he's not just a one-dimensional character in this again.

And I see we're still not doing anything about Michelle "totally not MJ but totally yes but totally not you guys" Jones. Wonderful.

So...those elementals
Fire: London
Water: Venice
Wind: Prague
Earth: ???
So what will be Earth? Something Spanish (I noticed a La Hotel...sign on the right)

I don't like the big Elementals he's facing. Gives me heavy Sandman vibes.

The changes to all the supporting characters still bother me (Betty Brandt especially), but I can learn to live with it. What I can’t wrap my head around is why they didn’t just name Zendaya Mary Jane if she’s going to be this world’s MJ. It’s such a weird choice.

Yeah, this trailer wasn't great. Don't know why, it just felt like stuff we've seen before other than the Europe setting. But Europe always feels like a place they take the series when they don't know what to do anymore; Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties.

Would've preferred New York in winter. Do it for the third Marvel, damn it!

Oh, wait, you're right. I forgot how school years work. :D

she's pretty much mary jane

they could've just came out and confirmed it, but purists would have gone nuts and they probably don't feel like dealing with that headache, so they're probably still going with the "shes not mary jane but we're making reference to the character" nonsense. I agree though, they just need to own it and move on.

Trailer looked cool. Peter and May interactions are cool. Fury and Peter with the Ultimate Spidey comic thing going on. Mysterio looks...awesome. The effects look cool.
Still despise cyber-bully loser-Flash. Ned is still awesome, and I'll be there opening day with all the rest of you (search your feelings...you know it to be true).
Seeing Mysterio was awesome...although i hope the plot is bigger than "Fury needs Peter's help to stop a rogue asset, Fury kicks Peter out because he can't get along with Mysterio, Mysterio turns bad, Spidey fights him". I hope there is something a little deeper in there, and I have faith there is.

I give it an 8/10, because it's Spider-Man.
