Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

Damn, was hoping for footage. Still cool posters though.
Too soon. We'll probably get a second trailer in the next few weeks then a third in June or something.

Screen Shot 2019-03-25 at 16.29.13.png i wonder why no trailer 2 and what spoilers could have for the endgame since we already know spiderman is alive in this movie, no matter the timeline (after or befor IW)

They play the long game. Take their word for it.

Not surprising at all. Same reason why we didn't get an Endgame trailer until after CM came out.

I actually prefer no trailer until after Endgame. Peter could reference a character's death as to why he wanted to leave his suit at home is my guess.

I figured they'd wait til after Endgame, didn't make sense when the hype train is just ramping up for that now.

I wonder if it'll be the week after Endgame or slightly later, because spoilers will be out there no matter what the more time goes on after Endgame.

Second poster is good. The other two are awful.

We need a Mysterio one.

I agree! It's been too long since we've got a villain spotlight poster. The Doc Ock one for SM2 is striking. Green Goblin had a pretty cool one for SM1, too.

All these posters are at least better than that laughable main poster for Homecoming with giant Tony Stark face and random explosions.

A trailer was never going to give major spoilers unless you count finding out that Spider-man comes back from the snap. More likely they don't the anticipation to be forgotten in the build-up to Endgame, which is only a month from today.

Well, if you think about it, the best trailer for FFH is the Endgame movie.
YUP!!
Endgame, provided it is the juggernaut it should be, will leave people with a "NO WAY" feeling the way we all felt after Infinity War. People will NOT be coming back after this. Spider-Man will be the first opportunity to see this new and fantastic (4!) world.

Sorry...I'm hoping we get some hint at the FF. It's been too long. No, the Josh Trank version doesn't count.

Maybe an Avenger appears in it, and they don't want to spoil who survived.

My hype for this film is kind of non-existent at this time. I loved Into the Spider-Verse and have been loving Marvel's Spider-Man, but I'm kind of dreading this film. I still love Homecoming, but not as much as I used to.
I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm a huge Gyllenhaal fan too, he's my favorite actor by far, and I'm still not entirely excited for this.

I think part of that is because I'm not a big fan of this taking place overseas and seems like his classmates (The weakest part of Homecoming) seem to have an even bigger presence in this one.

Not to mention how great Spiderverse was

Spider-Verse has set an impossibly high bar for all future Spider-Man films, honestly! We've had it on Blu-Ray for a week, and watched it about 4 or 5 times already. Just love it.

For Far From Home to knock it out of the park, we're going to need some better Spidey action. They NAILED the high school stuff. Nailed it. Looks like they have that going on this time too...cool...but my favorite part of his Mysterio battles in the comics wasn't the interaction at school, it was Mysterio convincing Spidey he was tiny and Msyterio was gigantic...or there was a n alien invasion...or that the Sinister Six had killed the FF and the Hulk... stuff like that.

This is a "Go big or go home" movie.
(I wonder if that will be the title for the third film?)

I can't believe we're in a 2019 where Marvel Studios' Spidey movie isn't as good as the animated Sony Spidey movie.
MCU Spiderman feels like a product of a savvy marketing team. It skillfully avoids triggering people who complain about the previous movies and it saved Spider-man as a commercial product. From the artistic standpoint, it's more like a simulation of sincerity

This. It feels more like saving the property with new things

I feel the same regarding FFH...as harsh as it may sound, I really don't care. I'm in such a good place with the amount of Spidey goodness recently--the comics are Amazing again, pun intended, the ps4 game was great, ITSV was better than it had any right to be but damn that movie was so good...the Peter in that movie is one of the best iterations we've had in media, it even got me to care about an alt Spidey in Miles and then, I look at FFH...and imo it looks weak sauce compared to these other adaptations. So yeah, at the moment I'm completely underwhelmed. I'm sure Gyllenhal will dominate as Mysterio but outside of that....ehhh.
