Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

Minutes after? Wow. So what happens to his Iron Spider suit and why does he go for this suit or a stealth suit? I'm with Marvel United... will Happy or Tony give him these new suits?

Tom Holland Looks much bullier here, Right?
Specially the legs.
The photos of him with wires might be his stunt double. The photos without the wires, he looks much slimmer and is really Tom (there’s photos of the eyes taken out and you can see it’s him).

I have a question: Is this movie set after he is vaporized by Thanos or before?

Will Peter be having nightmares about "dying" similar to how Tony struggled with the idea of losing his friends or breaking the team up which, of course, both has happened?

Only reason I ask is in "Infinity War" he has on the blue and red suit before changing to the Iron Spider suit. So, I assume this is after "Infinity War."
FAR FROM HOME takes place after A4.

That’d be a cool idea and character explorative. Especially for a 16 year old who’s just starting out as a superhero.

I wasn’t digging the white back spider but it’s growing on me.

The white spider on the back really reminds me of the shield logo, and i ain't totally sure what it is that gives me that vibe. i wouldn't be shocked if he gets it from shield.

Maybe tonys suit is damaged and he is for a brief period without it, and then shield repairs it in there own way.

Nah this one is made by Peter. Shield gives him the black one

Even before Homecoming, I was making the argument that the first movie should be the Vulture, the second movie should be Mysterio, and the third movie should be Kraven. I'm not going to claim much credit for being two for two so far; I wanted Vulture, Silvermane, and the Enforcers in the first movie and we got Vulture and the Shocker. I also really, really want Big Wheel in the second movie and I'm not holding my breath on that one.

My pitch was the first movie would sort of go with a youth vs. age theme with the Vulture. The second movie would involve Mysterio trying to make Spider-Man look bad so he could claim credit for himself. In doing so, the New York public would begin to see Spider-Man as a menace. The third movie would have Kraven, learning of this menace named Spider-Man, trying to hunt him down for his own personal glory as well as prize from J. Jonah Jameson.

If we get both the red-and-black and red-and-blue suit in the same film, I do wonder if one of them is Mysterio impersonating him. I was just thinking of why Peter would alternate between the red-and-blue and the red-and-black, since it serves no practical purposes like the Noir suit. Mysterio running around as 'Spider-Man' could be the reason why.

I'm thinking the film starts with the Homecoming suit, something happens to it so the black one is somewhat a temp/quick fix replacement and then the red and black is a true replacement.

I don't like the spider being white. The only time it should be white is on the black costume or on Venom. Why couldn't it be red, even if in this design?

Is it just me... or are the MCU suits just better than the suits from the Raimi & Webb series?

I just know I prefer ASM1, Hoco, and Insomiac suits the most.

I don't think it's that cut and dry, there have been good ones and there have been bad ones. ASM's may not work for some, but then there's ASM2's which a lot of folks say is one of their favorite's. The Stark suit is really nice. I'm not really feeling some of the choices made on the new suit. The basic design of the Raimi trilogy suit I think works really well on film, it has so much dimension to it. Honestly we've been pretty lucky with the Spidey suits over the years, he could have been in black leather in the early 2000s but we got a really faithful suit instead.

Having had so many different spidey suits at this point, id say this new one seems about average to me. its the homecoming suit with alteration.

If Zendaya is Mary Jane, then why don't they just give her red hair instead of having her go round looking like a non-character all this time? And give her straight hair too.

I think at this point they should just keep her Michelle. People didn't care for the whole "My friends call me MJ" from the first movie and she practically doesn't act or look like MJ so it'd be better if they just keep her as Michelle Johnson or Michelle and whatever the J stands for.

Zendaya looks great with red hair, kinda wish they'd have her with it in the movies too now that she's going by MJ! If you're having her play Mary Jane, then ya know why not? It's a fun visual, cooler than regular ol brown hair.

It probably doesn't help that she isn't "the" MJ. but it was obvious since Homecoming that she is gonna be the Love interest going forward.

Which makes you wonder whether it matters that she isn't "the" MJ.

She should have never been any MJ except the real one. Either commit to making her Mary Jane or make her a new character. The "fun" nod to the real character of MJ fell flat for most people.

They haven't confirmed that she's "the" MJ. She's just...MJ. LOL.
She is a different MJ(Michelle Johnson)...a more ethnic version, like Flash & Ned; yet, with a different name that fit her ethnicity vs using the more icon MJ(Mary Jane). The sooner you except the changes & diversity, the quicker you move on from it.

I wish that this was taking place before Infinity Wars. no need to disrupt the narrative with the aftermath of what happens in Avengers 4.

Other than the fact I like the Romita Sr. design of the mask and the emoting eyes, sorry, no TASM2 is still the best to me.

Now if the MCU can do a workable version of the McFarlane version, that could get my vote.

If she was Mary-Jane, the diversity wouldn't be a big issue for me. Someone can be ethnic and be named that.
