Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

Jokes aside, the excitement for Spider-Verse is doing more than enough to get me through this, the trailer can drop whenever.
Also, similar to what happened with Homecoming, I don't think that whatever they got at CCXP will be the trailer we get.

Someone on Twitter said that Sony might have delayed the trailer again because they want to wait for the hype over the Endgame trailer to die down so it can't steal Far from Home's thunder.

Is anyone even still talking about Endgame outside of the hardcore fans? The general audience who isn't as invested in some of these comic films compared to us- and are doing other things like, I dunno, getting ready for the holidays- would probably embrace Far From Home as they no doubt would for Endgame.

As it should SM-Into the Spider-verse was very good. I agree that the trailer U.S. will be different some 'elements' the same.

Well count me surprised, but I had an absolute blast with "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." I thought I was going to hate it and the animation, but after 5-10 minutes, I was hooked and loved it and was amazed by it from beginning to end. And the movie is loaded with Easter eggs, cameos and things to eat up and pick apart in multiple viewings. 4 out 4 webheads.

Ever since these last couple week all the signs have been showing into the spiderverse to be a seriously good and a legitimate contender for being one of the best spiderman.

So no trailer this weekend? Would have been nice to have it attached to ITSV...

So Marvel wants to use unseen villains for the MCU Spider-Man movies, right?

Sony has used:
-Green Goblin (more than once)
-Dr Octopus
-Venom
-Symbiote
-Sandman
-Lizard
-Electro
-Rino

Sony is also developing spin-offs focusing on villains, including:
-Venom (again)
-Carnage
-Kraven
-Morbius
-Sinister Six
-Black Cat

The MCU has used:
-The Vulture
-Scorpion
-Shocker
-Mysterio

(Kingping is in a limbo right now)

Now, how many of the big villains are left to be used in the MCU Spider-Man movies?

Big Man
Hammerhead
Tombstone
Mr Negative
Smythes
Jackal
Hob Goblin
Grey Goblin
Demo Goblin
Jack 'O' Lantern
Chameleon
Silvermane
Man-Wolf
Prowler
White Rabbit
Beetle
Tarantula
Black Tarantula
Kaine

First, let's see if movies like Kraven get made. Second, to add to the list of MCU Spider-Man villains, we apparently have:
Hydro-Man and the Molten Man

I still suspect we'll see Kraven in an MCU movie, but assuming that's not the case, there's room for (of the top of my head):
The Chameleon
Hobgoblin
Morlun
The Jackal
Tombstone
The Enforcers
Silvermane
Hammerhead
Alistair Smythe
Spider Slayer
The Fox

I also suspect Scorpion will return at some point. Am I the only one who wants Big Wheel in a Spider-Man movie?

I'm not an avid Spider-Man reader and I'll be honest, I don't know 90% of those villains :p

Hope they're cool and I hope they'll be enough of them, since there's like 3 of them each movie.

I'm genuinely surprised another animated entry is the first we see of the various mob-related characters on the big screen.
You can split Spidey's rogues into three main categories: mad scientists, petty thugs with powers, and NYC organized crime

I'm honestly not hyped with the idea of seeing most of those villains on the big screen.

But my point was mostly about how those Sony spin-offs can affect the MCU Spider-Man movies. I mean, I'd love to see Kraven, Venom, Carnage, the symbiote and Black Cat in the MCU movies eventually. I feel like they're setting up the Sinister Six there, but Sony still seems invested in that SS movie, so that's weird.

I'd be more hyped about seeing Green Goblin, Dr Octopus, Venom, Sandman, Lizard, and with characters like Rino, Scorpion and Shocker having a bit bigger roles than they had previously.

But again, my point was mostly about how Sony Spider-Man Cinematic Universe can affect the future MCU Spider-Man movies. Which villain could top the hype of Mysterio, for instance?

Ok I keep hearing that Apple is buying Sony . Like small whispers. What’s the deal with this? I don’t see any confirmation

I can see your point. I mean, I would love to see several of these villains make it into solo MCU Spiderman installments. At the same time however , given all the other MCU films which are in the pineline , it would take forever to get to Green Goblin, Ock etc in the MCU.

Additionally, given that alot of them have already appeared in previous Spiderman franchises, I could see Marvel wanting to stick with villains which haven't been done already.

That's why I'm now more open to spin off films . I was against the idea during the Webb era because it just wasn't practical at that time with that franchise. The landscape is different now with Spiderman secure, for the time being in the MCU, and audiences open to seeing different types of comicbook films.

I'm open to Spin offs now, provided that:

1) they don't close the door to Goblin, Ock, etc in appearing a Solo Spiderman , i.e. that the films don't place the villans in universe in which Spiderman doesn't exist.

2) that the films are good.

As far as villains in solo MCU Spiderman films, I don't think the idea is so much ,who tops Mysterio in the next film , but which villains are compelling enough to present Spiderman with a threat that challenges him as a character. In terms of who that villain is , I couldn't say. Its ultimately up the the writers I suppose.

Marvel took a character like Vulture who kept being pushed out of several Spiderman films in the development stage, and made him one of the best villains of all of the Spiderman live action films. At the same time, they took the Prowler, who i've always been underwhelmed by and frankly felt was lame, and made him a spooky menacing threat in Into the Spiderverse.

So I think that they couldn't take another lesser known villain, to the GA at least , and make them a compelling , threatening , foe.

Spidey has, in my opinion, the best rogue gallery of any other superhero. I think he'll be fine for many years to come in that regard.

Do you guys think the success of venom and spider-verse could possibly increase the hype for Far From Home?

Certainly doesn't hurt it. Anyway, Avengers: Endgame will probably be the best advertisement for FFH.
