I generally wonder if this movie is gonna end like Ironman 1 and have Peter reveal his hole identity to world. It would close out phase 3 with the way phase 1 started. Plus the consequences would open up more story opportunities

The MCU is generally not very fond of secret identities.

It seems to me that MCU writers/directors are only going to do the bare minimum with the secret identity aspect of the character. Not only does Aunt May already know, but we saw him leap from a full bus in Infinity War and none of those students made the connection. If we see any drama built around his SI, it's likely going to be a villain finding out.

Is Sony waiting to drop the Preview Night tickets. This movie comes out on a Tuesday so Monday would be preview night instead of usual Thursday. The only Monday showings I see in my area are Midnight for every theater, which seems bizarre now a days. That is the old school preview night, am I missing something or they won't have a 7PM showing?

Same thing with my theaters. Only 12:01AM showings the night before. Hopefully there are 7PMs eventually because as of right now I have Tuesday night tickets..

Well, Black Panther and Captain America movies were serious. They're telling stories of a high school kid who has superpowers. They're bound to have fun with that for now until he grows. Then we might get a little more serious moments.

Since Maria Hill is in this, I hope to God they finally give her a personality. She's been a block of wood since her introduction to the MCU. And it's a shame because Cobie is a great actress. I was never a fan of How I Met Your Mother but I love her on Friends from College. But she has NO discernible personality here.

To be fair, they could have thought he was there since he had an "internship" with Stark. That kid Harley was there as well and he could just as easily be Spider-man for all they know. But yet, a LOT of people do in fact know who Spider-man really is.

I agree. It was good to see her to be in the Spotlight in winter soldier. I want more from her.

I honestly found her kinda worthless in TWS. I wish they had removed her entirely and had more Sharon Carter in that movie. I don't know why Sharon had such a minimal role there. That's one of the few complaints I have with that film.

Heh...it's funny, Spider-Verse had a dying Peter Parker telling Miles to hide his face and not tell anyone, and Infinity War Spider-Man introduces himself to Dr. Strange as Peter Parker. Big contrast.

Also, look at the Maguire movies. Norman finds out he's Spider-Man, and his whole world is upside down. In Homecoming, Vulture finds out, and he's like, "huh...I'm going after him anyways."

Now, I like the MCU Spider-Man, but I do wish a little more seriousness would pertain to Peter's ID. I mean, even in Homecoming when Iron Drone saves him, he gets out, pulls off his mask, and sits in full view talking to an Iron Man suit at a public park. Not well thought out.

Either way, I'm not going to sweat it, or I won't be able to enjoy the movie, and I really want to enjoy it. Besides, I've still got my copy of Spider-Verse, so I have the best Spidey film ever to watch if I so choose...

They didn't show it, obviously but given the circumstances, I'm sure that everyone there would have been conversing, sharing stories, memories, etc. And with how easily Peter just opens right up to Strange and Marvel, "I'm Peter Parker," I'm inclined to believe that's what happened during you know what.

Maybe it's a nitpick but imo the identity of Peter being a secret should be important or at least not taken so lightly.

All good points.

However, I'm in the camp that believes Peter's identity should be kept secret. Don't take the mask off. I've felt that way no matter the iteration and it's been a sticking point with me since the Raimi films.

In the comics, yeah, Strange finds out but it should be pointed out that Peter didn't want him to know it. Whereas in the movie he casually hands it over.

It bothers me. Doesn't bother you. No biggie. Like I said before it's a nitpick. I wish it were handled differently but in the end it's really just a nitpick...it doesn't ruin the experience for me.

I hope the movie has Peter being less naive and it showcases his detective skills. And that Spidey’s able to realize Beck is a phony and uncovers his scheme on his own, instead of Fury informing him or Mysterio revealing it himself and he totally didn’t see it coming.
