It was kind of obvious for a while now. thats why talk of introducing Uncle ben at this point is probably very slim.

Any ideas what this could be about? Spider-Man deal review coming up maybe?

It kind of feels strange on how the world does not seem to be reeling from having essentially lost Captain America as well. I mean you have people mentioning that the world is in need of a new Iron Man now that Tony is gone but no one seems to care that Cap is essentially gone as well.

Tony was a celebrity, inventor, genius, billionaire, philanthropist who died. He was a public figure. where cap hasn't been portrayed as one, and it wasnt announced to the world that he turned into an old man. So why would the world be reeling exactly?

Tony died to save the universe. Nothing inspirational about a guy who left his universe to go have sex in another one.

It may be relatable, but not really worthy of praise. :o

But the world would not know why he never came back. They would just know Captain America is gone, also. It's not like there was some huge press conference stating why Cap never returned or something.

Also, it is still a Captain America who spent the last 2 years of his life as a fugitive superhero who was betrayed by his own government, spent the last 5 years helping to keep the half of the world that was left from going off the rails, only to answer the call when he was needed to rally a charge that saved the entire universe...and now he's gone. Probably a sad moment when people see a hero who defended his country's ideals at all costs is no longer there to stand up for them.

Also, a guy who spent his life in the service of others going to a LONG overdue honorable discharge of sorts is as noble a cause as any. Living the type of life he defended for so long is a very "full circle" type of thing.

Maybe Disney is finally buying back the rights?

Don't build me up like that, man! I'd settle for just a renewal of the deal with Disney, and Sony keeps making animated stuff. Spider-Verse is the best offering from either of them, after all (as far as Spidey movies goes).

My assumption is that it has nothing to do with Marvel at all.

I kind of wouldn't be shocked if RDJ did cameo in the movie. this is still part of phase 3.

Feels like a not so out of character assumption on your part.

Here's an idea... All you are basing this on is a shot in a trailer for a film about Spider-Man whom in four films within the MCU has been established to have had a bond with Iron Man. So, yeah, his death is going to be referenced in a Spidey film that follows the event that took Tony's life. Any inference about how the rest of the world is taking the situation with Cap is just that, you jumping the gun to immediate negative inference.

Also... There is going to be a series dedicated precisely to the fallout of Cap being old and passing the shield to Sam. Why are you assuming this was somehow not going to be referenced to when you were aware of the Falc/Buck show?
