Three $1B movies in four/five months... The MCU is an absolute monster.

Kudos to Disney as they pushed back the release of Lion King to give Spidey a clear run.

Now let's hope Sony wouldn't get greedy and demand the next one makes 1.5b to continue with the deal.

Feige is like LeBron James saying he’s going back to Cleveland to win them a title, and did just that. Sony needs to just get out of the way and give them what they want.

Now that 1 billion has been secured, it's time for Marvel and Sony to return the negotiating table.
One the one hand Sony has just released the 800m Venom and the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse movie. And on the other hand, Marvel has made two Spider-Man movies to the turn of nearly 1.9 billion. Sony was would STUPID if they pulled Spidey out of the MCU now.

I think the next major event is Secret Wars (insider leaks) and Spider-Man HAS to be a part of that he just has to.

Marvel has made 23 movies and the average gross for their 23 movies is 1 billion. That's crazy.

This actual the ninth film in the MCU to cross the Billion dollars

1. Avengers Endgame ($2,791.4)
2. Avengers Infinity War ($2,048.4)
3. The Avengers ($1,518.8)
4. Avengers Age Of Ultron ($1,405.4)
5. Black Panther ($1,346.9)
6. Iron Man 3 ($1,214.8)
7. Captain America: Civil War (1,153.3)
8. Captain Marvel ($1,128.3)
9. Spider-Man far from Home ($1.1 Billion)

So we're past the billion dollar mark while the film is still making millions per day in weekday numbers. This is going to finish a long way clear.

Yeah, it would be a crazy time to pull him out. He can make over a billion a film pretty much guaranteed while they continue to write good villains for Spidey to go up against in the MCU. And his continued appearances in the biggest event films around these days makes the rights to Spidey worth that much more. Sony should develop the Spider-verse stuff and try and coordinate with Feige to incorporate anything else they might plan rather than doing it all separately.

I’d be fine with Sony making animated movies. If Venom had bombed then this would be easier. But you know they want Spider-man for the third one if it gets that far.

Venom did those numbers cause GA thought it was involved with the mcu like spidey was. But I wouldn’t care if venom showed up

Venom wasn't very good or memorable but it was strangely entertaining/watchable. Hardy was miscast and his character poorly written but the interplay of his personas was still compelling. Its connection to Spidey and by extension the MCU certainly helped, but its level of success is still somewhat inexplicable.

But to say that branding (real or inferred)wasn't a significant factor is silly. See: Suicide Squad.

Next milestone is to pass Captain Marvel. I don't think it has enough left in the tank to pass Aquaman.

I thought the Venom persona was hilarious. Seems like they went for outright comedy on that front, and I laughed lol.
