The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Gets a Set of Parents and Another Villain

The general audience didn't know who he was, but it doesn't change his importance as a character. Ra's Al Ghul is one of Batman's biggest foes, whether the general audience knew about him or not. The only reason Penguin & Riddler were more recognizable was because of the 60s TV Show. It doesn't make them more dangerous or important than Ra's.

They didn't know who Two-Face was before Batman Forever either. Does that make him a minor villain?
The point we're trying to make is, Nolan made a good and well respected Batman film with an unknown main villain. Point being, it can be done.

Any chance that this proto-goblin becomes The Hobgoblin.Could the villains be The Lizard and The Hobgoblin.

I dont know if that article REALLY confirms Proto-Goblin...

On one hand, he did mention a harness.

On the other, Aunt May wore a harness too.

On ANOTHER hand, he mentioned action.

On the opposite of THAT hand, he never said HIS action.

Or what if this proto-goblin still looks human but has super strength, super agility, super fast reflexes, super healing and he becomes Kraven.

Proto-Kraven? Proto-Kroblin? Proto-Graven? Proto-Goven? Proto-Kroven?

Nope, doesn't work.

This.

I really hope they don't go the rout of protogoblin...but they probably will..and everyones gonna think this sucks. Personally, I think its too soon to try to reboot spiderman...but if they do this and incorporate shield and other marvel superheroes like they've done with the other marvel movies coming out...I think I might be ok.

Well,it sounds like we are gonna have two villains in this movie. So what other villain would fit better with The Lizard than Kraven.

Not exactly. Proto-Goblin hasn't been confirmed to be in the movie since Sony hasn't said anything. Then again, they could be using the same technique as they are doing with the Lizard.

seriously proto goblin, fans complained about to much goblin in the last films and now they pull the most random one out.

and if they go with the whole transformation that it'll be more of a **** up than emo peter

Oh, darn. I posted the Van Atter news in another thread. Didn't realize it was being discussed in here already. :p My mistake! :o

If they go with proto-Goblin they are obviously trying to re-capture the 1st 2002 film without going all the way.
I would have thought they'd have the intelligence to leave off the goblins until the next story.

I wish they could just have the Lizard, Norman Osbourne and a side villian like Electo.

That would be super awesome but they have to go the weirdo route, well don't expect much at the box office then, Sony.

:whatever:

Well, Like someone elso suggested, Nels van Adder could be code for someone else. I do believe if that's the case, it's code for Kraven.

Beside, unless they are re-characterizing van Adder to dark & brunet; Nels is pale & blonde in the comics. Bate & Switch, anyone. ;)

LOL, Sony didn't even give the guy the full script. No wonder Sally Field probably turned down the role. Sony most likely gave her 8 f---ing pages. This secretive sh-- is for the birds.

So he doesn't care who he is playing and he doesn't care if he is in shape. Great method actor.

Interview with Irrfan Khan and John Schwartzman:

http://www.superherohype.com/news/a...an-starts-shooting-using-epic-digital-cameras

Irrfan Khan talked to The New York Times about being cast as Nels Van Adder, who in the comics becomes Proto-Goblin:

Q. In "Spider-Man" you're playing a character not that many people have heard of. What can you tell us about Van Adder?
A. Is that his name? These science-fiction names don't mean a lot to me. He's a character who, I think, was not in the comics or perhaps a minor character. I've read some pages, but the whole script hasn't been made available to me.

Q. How did you get the role?
A. My manager told me that the director Marc Webb was approaching us. I spoke with him, and he sounded very engrossed, and I was interested. I'm expectant and really looking forward to it.

Q. Have you had to do any training in preparation for the part? And what about being in 3-D?
A. You don't do training for action. You're waiting for action. You just strap yourself into a harness and go. Two dimensions, three dimensions — "Avatar" really made a difference in terms of 3-D, but beyond that I haven't thought about it.

Okay, when you're going to be playing a character it normally helps if you actually know their name, yknow?

Why am I seriously hating the idea of both this actor and this character?!

Yeah, I'm not liking this actor period and Proto-Goblin either. Both bad choices, IMO. I'm not lovin' it.

Let's be honest... would any actor actually know who the **** van adder is?

lol

yeah, but I would think the actor who is going to play him in Spider-Man, one of the most anticipated films, would know

not liking his attitude

"Oh, this is for Spider-Man? I thought this was Slumdog Millionarie part 2"

Not really. I mean, he only got to see a few pages of the script. What more can he say? He barely knows anything more about the movie than we do.

Here's my stance on things...

Ok, to those people who are thinking he might be just a minor side character...wrong. The Hollywood Reporter article specifically says that it's "another villain". Now, I liked Spidey 62's suggestion that said he might be an Bolivar Trask type person, working with Peter's dad. My theory is that he's the one who sets up their deaths. I don't think he'll become this "Proto-Goblin" creature, much like how Mendell Stromm in the first Spider-Man never became his alter ego Gaunt. I don't think it's anything to complain about.
Agreed. However, I wouldn't completley dismiss Proto-Goblin from this film. Although, it may only be speculation, it's still a possibilty.

this Khan guy sounds like a *****e he doesn't really seem to care for his character
