Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 1

Talking about balancing your personal life sounds to me like there will be Peter Parker segments in the game. The interview at last year's E3, Bryan Inithar and Bill Rosemann talked about how Peter Parker was just as important as Spider-Man.

That sounds so good.

I knew of the interview with Bryan and Bill but did not know of what was listed about the game already. I'm still stoked we have an experienced Spidey, too.

Yeah me too! Just like Arkham Asylum it's cool to just jump into an already experienced Batman. Having an experienced Spider-man's opens up the possibility to use a plethora of characters already established. Just like the Neversoft Spider-man games and Web of Shadows. One thing that has me excited is that we should be getting Green Goblin's long looooong over due appearance in a 3D Spider-man game outside of the first movie game.

I like to think it's all but confirmed we're getting Gobby seeing as how Norman is running for Mayor but who knows? This is their own spin on things so I'm very intrigued to see what they do with such a broad mythology and such a varied fanbase to appeal to.

I'm all for Green Goblin as the main villain.
Their confontation on the second season of Spectacular Spider-Man is still one of my favorite moments between those two. I want more of that.

Yeah, hopefully we'll be able to pull off some cool aerial combat moves in this game.

It'd be cool be able to do a move like in the Spider-Man movie game where you could ride on his glider and punch him.

Actually it wasn't a quick time event in the movie game. You had to hold the jump button while webswinging behind Goblin.

I know that about the 15 years old game, I was thinking of the new game featuring it without QTE.

I had a thought about the white spiders. What if the purpose of that is since he is an experienced crimefighter in this game, he has those pieces as the most heavily protected spots of his suit? So if enemies shoot at him they'll shoot at the big bright white spot and he's safer from gunfire.

Yeah, exactly lol. I think if that's the case it's the kind of logic that works in a video game when you're trying to make superhero gameplay somewhat realistic.

Its a little redundant though as he as spider senses, he should know the bullet is coming before it comes.

That would make stealth pretty hard to do for this Spider-Man.

I like hearing these different ideas though. Insomniac did say there is a reason for the white spider. I thought it might have something to do with Mr Negative, something about it being the negative colour of Spidey's usual black emblem, but that doesn't explain why his back emblem is white too instead of it turning blue.

Or it could just simply be an upgrade to the suit that Peter has made. Some people thought it had something to do with his web shooters/ fluid due to the wrists and gloves having white on them too.

It'll be really fun to see what skins they put into the game. I hope there's at least a couple options already in the game before dlc. I'd like to have both Romita sr. and McFarlane variations of classic Spidey, other than that I don't care

They better have a Miles Morales Spider-Man costume in there. Bonus points if they actually got a different voice actor for it (maybe the one doing the upcoming movie)

That'd be neat. It's a pet peeve of mine when a character skin is of another person and it's the original character still talking. Like in Prototype 2 they put in a skin for the protagonist of the first game but he still sounded like the 2nd game's protagonist. 1st game was a scrawny white guy and the 2nd game was a gruff black guy. So yeah it didn't sound right playing the scrawny white guy with the gruff black guy's voice.

For me I'd love the Raimi suit to be in the game.

As great as the raimi suits are, ive seen enough of them in video games. I'd much rather have all comic influenced skins.

All movie versions of Spider-Man will probably be in the game. I could see a pre-order bonus being the Homecoming suit or something.

For sure there will be comic costumes. Hopefully a ton of them, but the Raimi suit is a special costume that represents a major moment in Spider-Man's history. At least to me it does.

I agree and hopefully that's the case. Arkham Knight added the Dark Knight movie suit for free as an add on later. Perhaps Insomniac will do that if they're not in the base game or a pre-order.

Yeah the Raimi suit is a must as well. I bet someone will attempt recreating the final swing from SM1 (given that the controls are more intuitive now and have more room for player creativity)
