Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 2

I just watched the gameplay trailer again from last year and, as I get older and leave the bias behind, I realize the huge mess that Spidey causes in some of his missions. Fury was right to be mad at him in the Ultimate universe.

Peter is completely unprepared to be a major hero. He is too reckless and doesn't really think about the repercussions he can generate on the way he approach the thugs or bigger villains.

The smart choice, on the scenario of the gameplay we got, would be to stealth approach Li in his helicopter, unseen, stick to the bottom and go where it goes. Or put a tracker on it. This way he finds out about Li's hideout and possibly his goal, not to mention the base location of his hired gang and the opportunity to observe his powers before attacking him head on.

But no. What ensues from Spidey's actions on trying to grab the helicopter is the beginning of a lot of destruction, property damage, possible civillians damaged and Spidey having to count on his own luck. Falling wreckage all around. Only to get caught in the end. He failed miserably. I'd be left more angry than relieved of his interference.

I hope they address the destruction he helped to cause and his imprudent acts, in the game.

Watanbi Yuri mentioned the destruction to him. I guess you cannot be too mad at Spider-Menace based on not knowing the powers of Martin Li, but I wonder if he will be careful with cretins he knows of or not.

I guess Insomniac tweeted last night that both Funko AND Gamestop have the release of the Pop figure wrong, so I guess that means who knows when anything is coming again. :csad:

I went to pre-order the pop at my local game stop and they have a poster with the years estimated releases. It had Spiderman as June 2018.

I recently played Spider-Man 3 game a little bit and the graphics aren't that good nowdays but I was really impressed by the traffic density. Some times there were so many cars on the road. I hope this game is like that.

Graphics for that game never looked impressive, or serviceable.

Well, the PS4 has the power to do that.
While playing Horizon Zero Dawn, it was impressive to me how I could spot a machine moving miles away from me, indeed on the horizon, while still having everything between us incredibly detailed. Nothing was lost on the distance.

I believe we'll be able to see not only a busy traffic under us, but also on the far side of Manhattan.

I could see the odd bit of traffic appearing out of thin air in short distance from the gameplay footage. But in other parts you could see traffic stretch further back in the distance. Things have probably improved since that, though.

There was that one time where I faced the opposite, it was night time, cars and pedestrians were visible from a distance... they disappeared as I approached them.

I was uncertain how I needed to react to that moment.

its honestly gotten so annoying to not hear anything about this for so long

how do we not even have a release date. come on already

I don't really follow any video game releases, is this normal of Sony's other exclusives on the way or in the recent past? Last thing we really got was that trailer at the end of October, it's 5 months now of near radio silence. :shock :csad:

Sony's current stategy is to not announce videogame releases until they are ready to release Detroit and GoW both got dates when they were 2-3 months away

I saw a cool showing how they did that which was basically focusing all of the rendering/processing power on the field of view instead of having everything waiting even if you can't see it.

The GIF showed that outside of the field of vision it was basically just the wire frame models but as it got closer to the field of vision it would fill it in as needed. Pretty dope.

I still don't like the white Spider symbol. black would have been better, imo.

White Spider symbol looks best with black symbiote suit.

but hey, at least the new design is patriotic! :)

I know right. They must have some good gameplay footage by now, they should just put it out there. Maybe Sony insists that they can't show more gameplay before E3, that's the only reason I can think of. Insomniac would know better than that

hopefully we can use different skins from the start like with the arkham games, because I'm going classic ditko for sure

hopefully its soon

if i had to guess, the game is coming sometime around the 2018 holiday season

I'm still getting on this summer with the reveal being mid April.

With how Sony has been marketing their exclusives lately...especially God of War 4...I honestly think they're going to announce the release date at E3 BUT, they're going to pull a Cloverfield Paradox marketing strategy.

There is so much hype for this game...they don't really need to advertise it in my opinion. The only thing people really want is a release date. I think the release date will be a week or two after E3. I'm thinking that June rumor could potentially pan out to be true.

Imagine how crazy that would be to reveal at the conference. Sony could potentially be stock piling at the moment.
