Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

I still hope they add two more features...an ability to change to rainy or overcast weather. And more factions in the random crimes.

Agreed there 100%. I was hoping the map for Turf Wars was going to be default rain so I'd have an excuse to revisit, and I was also hoping the title meant we might see all the villain factons emerging as random crimes and turf struggles. That could make end game far more enjoyable and spontaneous.

Outside of that, if possible, I'd like to be able to play content in one contained map and not switch between each chapter. The most disappointing factor of the DLC for me is how it is segregated, making the game world feel empty. It may not mesh with the base game, but even putting the 3 packs together would make a world of difference.

I don't know what it is, but enemies in the DLC, at least to me, are more annoying than anything I faced in the main game. Maybe it's because the timing of their attacks is slightly off.

They're 100% more annoying. The mini-gun guy terrorized me at first. I feel like the base game was a really well refined experience, and the expansions have been a bit more experimental. The intent seems to have been push you into using different patterns and powers. The downside is a bunch of OP enemies and frustrating deaths. It may be anecdotal, but I feel like the DLC has a notably worse performance as well. I've noticed more bugs and glitches.

Here's a couple of videos featuring some Raimi suit love as well as a taste of my style of play...enjoy! Oh and both vids are using Spectacular difficulty which is my default setting for gameplay.

That's really how it felt. They tried a few different things to add more variety and almost all of it annoyed me to some extend. The DLC Episodes were definitely not the same refined experience as the main game.

Just now, I spent minutes running in circles in one of the enemy hideouts, because one of the last remaining enemies was a gatling gun thug. In power armor. I had nothing left except for the regular webbing that keeps refilling and I barely had any health left. So I was waiting for my Resupply action to fill up... and of course it resupplied squat. So I had to change the suit power to the mechanical arms and wait again for the suit power to fill up, because going after the gatling gun thug barehanded was practically suicide. Man, did I feel powerful at that moment. A superhero who can bench press a tank, running away from a baldy in power armor.

And then when I finally got rid of him and found the medical supplies, SURPRISE! 4 more thugs were waiting for me. With barely any health, no gadgets and trapped in a small room with a jetpack thug. I managed to beat them. But I am getting soooo tired of this ****. I just want to unlock all the suits so I can go back to replaying the main game.

That's one of the major things that annoyed me. Being forced to use all the gadgets. And yes, I realize what an odd sounding and silly complaint that is. "Oh no, the game forces me to actually use all the gadgets at my disposal. Oh the humanity!" But I managed to finish the main game with only gadgets that I deemed to be essential Spider-Man abilities. I'm not Gravitron or Ironman. I don't want to make enemies float in the air or dominate the battlefield with flying drones that shoot the crap out of everyone. So being forced to use gadgets that I don't care for, soured the entire experience for me from the get go.

I certainly felt no pride spamming electric webs and suspension matrix. Haven't played part 3 yet, but I fear the Screwball challenges after the last round of stealth/photobomb mash-ups.

See its all this negative feedback I hear about the Screwball stuff, the combat challenges, MJ missions etc puts me off doing the DLCs.

Man, all these challenges and hideouts in this DLC are even harder than the boss battles in the main game, and they're not fun.

I think I am around the middle part of the 3erd dlc so far and I think at least so far its a lot better than dlc 1 or 2.

Jumping back into this now that the last dlc has been released. Just downloaded all of them of course YouTube spoiled the ending to the newest one but oh well.

None of them are bad, just all really average. Every one feels very similar. The story missions are 90% combat with the same side-missions.

I don't know how much they're going for now but eventually they'll bundle them together and put it on sale at a good price. Get them then.

If I have to repeat myself, its because you keep repeating the same baseless theories. Your chosen interpretation of their tweets is just that. Your own interpretation. There's only one way you can interpret a tweet that says they had been planning the Raimi suit from the get-go. There's no other way to interpret that other than what it says. They have no logical reason to lie. There is nothing to be gained by lying. There is no damage control required on their part over this. You're making blind leaps and assumptions based on nothing. It doesn't even make sense from a theoretical standpoint.

The Arkham games did not lose any significant money based on any decisions that Rocksteady made. If you are going to claim they did, then post the proof along with it. Rocksteady listened to fans. Insomniac did listen to fans, too. But not regarding the Raimi suit. That was always happening, whether fans asked for it or not. Its certainly not the first suit they gave us that fans never asked for. Fan favorite or not.

Yeah, you already told me how 'illogical' I am being. I disagree.

Insomniac said 'listening doesn't mean following.' The obvious way to interpret that is: just because we hear you ask for it doesn't mean we'll comply. If you say otherwise you're being dishonest. The Raimi suit is the only suit they released after the game dropped, outside of the three DLC packs, and it was free. It just so happens to be the one suit with a giant internet campaign behind it, with people all over youtube posting Raimi memes. You think that's just a coincidence? Ok, fine. You're less skeptical than I am.

Just finished the DLC. I wish it was Silvermane turning himself into a cyborg instead of Hammerhead.

I liked the Peter Parker section, though it could have been fleshed out a bit more. Sable was cool, but a little overpowered. I've been playing on ultimate difficulty, and webbing enemies with the standard shots can take a long time. I wish you could hold the button down to shoot a continuous stream of web, rather than having to shoot 10 consecutive shots.

I noticed something while playing, If you equip the iron spider arms with the comic version of the iron spider suit, they now appear yellow. That's a nice touch.

We also now have the option to replay New Game+. Very much appreciated.

For myself playing with the Raimi suit gives me that small but significant closure I wanted after SM4 got scrapped. It's a very good christmas present

Someone with time and passion is going to take the cutscenes from this game and Tobey's voice from the movie/games and make a fan Spider-Man 4. Really good thing we got Vulture and Black Cat in this.

Just booted the game up and I dont see the big fascination with the Rami suit. Its another basic variation of the classic suit

$50 CAD for this on Boxing Day sale (30 bucks off). Might get it...

I just beat Silver Lining. All in all, it was more enjoyable than Turf Wars but the DLC as a whole was nowhere near as good of a story as the main game. But the final post credits scene makes it pretty clear that there will be no more DLC missions for this game besides maybe a few more suits. They really teed it up for the sequel.

I also would have preferred a Spider-Cop suit to Cyborg Spider-Man. :o

I dunno about anyone else here, but I'm REALLY miffed about what's become of Yuri:

IMO, how Yuri was handled as a character in the DLC storyline was complete bull****. I know Hammerhead was more of a focus for Insomniac but Peter didn't even get a CHANGE to properly confront Yuri on ANYTHING she pulled here. After what happened to Octavius in the main game, I REALLY wanted Peter to verbally get up in her face after she tried to shoot Hammerhead, but it never happened. He just f-ing STOOD THERE doing nothing! Great game regardless, but seriously, I want this better dealt in perhaps a future DLC or the inevitable sequel. Peter already lost one friend to revenge and it cost him Aunt May. NEVER AGAIN. He should've made more of an effort here not to let Yuri go full Punisher here.

It's really a shame that they had to follow the comics and turned her into a Punisher light. Yuri was one of the best supporting characters in the game and I loved her banter with Spidey.

On the other hand......do you think this means they could bring Jean DeWolfe in for the sequel? Spidey still needs an ally in the police force and she'd be perfect!

As long as they don't kill her off. I'd prefer there to be a little less tragedy in Spidey's life.

We'll see. Still, Peter REALLY should've just pinned Yuri against a wall after she tried to shoot Hammerhead and just straight yelled at her. BADLY. Standing there like that doing nothing wasn't helping.

So, I just saw this, and now I want a Superior Spider-Man game.
