But a deal with marvel should happen if sony is upset by how sony is treating the franchise then thats a big deal. I would be shocked and flabbergasted if a deal with marvel isnt made. The people want it.

Is it known who masterminded the deal to trade away the merchandising rights? Whoever made the deal clearly believed that the franchise was going to become massive which would indicate that it was the same people who expected ASM2 to make a billion. A belief that failed since Marvel will make more from the ASM2 merchandising than Sony will make from ASM2 itself. If it was the execs at Sony Pictures then you would think that it would undermine their credibility if they tried to argue against a co-production if Sony wanted to make it happen.

Spiderman a "nothing character" ? That will never happen even though his movies arent the best he is still widely recognized and loved and im sure from cartoons and many comics and hell even pictures everyone and there mom knows spiderman coexist with other marvel superhero. Thats part of the reason why 100% of the fanbase plus the GA want him in the MCU.

Spidey is an icon for sure, but I would actually argue that a lot of people aren't aware of his coexistence with other Marvel superheroes in one universe.

I think it would work in Marvel's favor, though. People are loving heroes like Cap and Iron Man right now, due to their recent success. Just imagine if they saw Spidey with them in the form of a post-credit scene or trailer.

People will go insane.

What if we got a found-footage film? four friends investigate the legend of The Spider-Man!

Hopefully at this summit the powers-that-be decide to keep Spidey 100% and to scale back the universe building idea and simply go back to making Spider-Man movies that build steadily rather than all at once, then in a good few years they can spin-off a Venom movie once the symbiote and characters have been established

Sony keeping spidey all to themselves is literally the worst thing that could happen.

But to each his own, I guess.

Don't worry guys, I'll go to Sony HQ and talk to everyone. Brb.

Please let this happen to Avi Arad at the end of this summit:

Then he steals the Goblin costume and glider from Sony Pictures HQ and kills the heads of Sony in Japan.

TASM 3 villain confirmed?

Why would anyone want Sony to keep the rights?
Every Spider-man movie they've made in the past ten years have been mediocre to awful, Marvel is batting a thousand across the board, yet you think the property is a better fit at the studio responsible for this.

SONY made a huge mistake by selling their rights to Animated Spider-Man and after that the toy and merchandise rights to Disney, otherwise they would have been in more profitable situation now, (by earning from merch stuff and Spectacular Spider-man series continuation.)

In the current situation, they should have a deal for Spider-man to be a part of Marvel movies and after his jump in popularity get the TASM 3 movie.

There's only one thing left to sell...

Just make a deal with Dev Disney and wait for the right time before getting TASM3 in theaters. :oldrazz:

Because he hates the idea of a shared universe and gets upset when people hate on X-Men / Fantastic Four.

There are likely 2 sceniros and i really don't like eather choice

1:Sony moves forward with sinister six. It's reboot of Spider-man with spider-man teaming up with sinister Six against venom or Carnage
2:Spider-man is reduced to cameo or supporting role in team films at marvel studios untill who knows when there would be another solo Spider-man film.

It could 2019 after avengers Infinity war part II at earliest till we would see
a solo spider-man film from marvel.

Marvel may want to drag heels till 2019 so Sony loses all right to Spider-man
so they don't have to share any disribution with them.

It's selfish to want Spider-Man in Marvel's hands before the Infinity Wars start, but I'm a selfish person.

That's not selfish, that's heading the good will of the people.
There's always a possibility that if Marvel gets a hold of Spidey, they'll be using him as the face of Phases 4-6. I'd still be okay with that... Better than nothing. Some quick cameo appearances of Spideyverse characters would make us know Peter is coming. Imagine Bruce Banner saying he did some research with a Doctor Connors? Or the Daily Bugle came up somewhere in the MCU? That would be so cool!

No deal with Marvel would include another TASM film.

The main thing holding Marvel back from making more films a year is resources. If a shared production deal were made with Sony that would mean shared resources, so a Spidey film before Infinity War 1 might be possible (depending on when a deal is made).

Marvel has 3 slots that they've been having success with. May, July and November. The only year not filling all 3 is 2016, and I'm hoping he'd fill it.

I think he just enjoys playing the contrarian. To each his own.

Lol like I've said I'm trying to tamper my expectations but thinking about the possibilities gets me so pumped.

Honestly, I'm fine with a hold on solo Spidey films for a while. Let him show up in Civil War and maybe Doc Strange as a cameo, and then save Spidey for Phase 4. Being the next film after IW pt. 2 would be the perfect place for MCU Spidey's first solo outing, IMO.

Forever hater of the MCU, Don't ever give up CWR!:woot:

I'm fine with Spidey not having a solo movie until Phase 4, as long as he cameo's in the CW and IW movies. I think that would be their safest bet. Then, they already have the new face of their franchise established, somewhat, and ready for a full on reboot in 2019- 2022. His origin movie could even take place before his first cameo appearance, the entire movie as a flashback.

Spidey could be in a team up movie like we used to get Marvel Team Up in the comics. I don't know which one of the phase 3 movies could do that though, but maybe phase 4, so that they don't have to be completely Spidey solo movies, as we've had plenty of those already. Make it more like the Cap movies where, in Cap 2 and 3 he has plenty of other Marvel Universe guest stars (eg Black Widow, Falcon, Iron Man, Black Panther etc).
