I didn't like Goblin's look either, it could have been so much better (as shown by the concept) but Sony chickened out yet again.

I agree. I'd take Raimi's version over it any day.

We need a spinoff about Rodrigo Guevara, whose identity Peter Parker stole in ASM when he visited Oscorp labs.

He's our next venom, seeking revenge on Peter Parker for stealing his nametag

well if Peter stole his identity he´ll do the same for everyone so he is noone and everyone at the same time Rodrigo Guevara is "The Chameleon"

More emails and insider info is coming in that Andrew Garfield might have been fired as far back as August when he skipped out on some important SONY meeting with the CEO's and higher ups and that the Creative teams were all reshuffled or removed. . MORE AS WE GET IT! ~Armin

Where's "The Crane Dad" Movie?

is the second movie of Sony´s first phase of the cinematic universe:

1st- The Chameleon
2nd-Crane Dad
3rd- Laundry Sheriff
4th- Mecha-Rhino
5th- Greenvil Ed
leading to the the Sinister Six where they unite to fight Venom,Carnage and the planet of the symbiotes in Avi Arad´s "Sinister Six: Rise of the planet of the symbiotes" by Sony

If its true that Garfield is Spider-Man no more then outside of regular CBM news shouldn't something like this be officially mentioned on Entertainment Tonight or on E!'s daily news when they're not covering junk like the Kardashians or American Idol?

Not if they are negotiating. You also add the scandal. Sony has been having rough days.

Yeah, and if they're negotiating with Marvel, he's effectively gone anyway even if the Japanese Sony parents weren't mad at him, since Marvel will recast the role if a deal goes through. I thought he was gone after ASM 2 was poorly received anyway.

It was the fans who kept insisting he was coming back and that there wasn't trouble in paradise with regards to the franchise. The email scandal at least puts that notion to rest.

I briefly hopped back on when ASM 1 showed promise of a somewhat likable foundation for future films, but I hopped off real quick after ASM 2.
Also going back in my posts I defended the movie as not being as bad as some made it out to be, but I own it on blu Ray and can attest to the fact that it gets worse with each and every watch. Sony really screwed the pooch on that one.

That is exactly what happened to me with ASM2. I liked it the first time in theaters but on bluray it has become almost unwatchable for me.

I loved it in theatres, spent £18 on the Blu-Ray (and Blu-Ray 3D) and was convinced that I'd love it just as much. I watched it again and was so disappointed, all that money gone to waste too. Urghh... :csad:

I guess it still looks nice as a collection with my TASM Blu-Ray but I should have just waited until it was a lot cheaper in price.

I have ASM2 on blu ray I've recently bought my fiancé a 3D tv so I am very much looking forward to watching it again. I have seen it multiple times on blu ray but I skip to the Times Square fight. No biggie I skip to all the best bits on all the movies I have seen multiple times.

With that said, I hope the Marvel deal happens. If Garfield is gone regardless then there isn't a single reason (literally) why I want the Amazing series to continue.

Yeah, the Times Square scene is pretty awesome! I just thought that the slow-mo sequence was a little too long in that fight but still really cool nevertheless. I always skip to the fight scenes in Spider-Man 2, mainly because I don't really like any other part of that film. :/

From the sound of things, they aren't going to finish the TASM series so I guess it really is goodbye for Garfield. If he has been fired then I'm kinda glad because unless he's going to be in the MCU as Spidey, I think it's only fair on him that he's not in another terrible Spider-Man movie made by Sony.

Just realised how appropriate this meme is for Sony right now:

Andrew Garfield On AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2: “Blame Sony”
The studio gets the blame for the worst superhero movie of the year.

Maybe he was fired after that interview.

Latino Review:
Marvel Wants A Fresh Start With 'Spider-Man' Without Andrew Garfield
DA7E said:
The 60/40 split still looks to be the divide with Sony handling distribution. However, Marvel's not inclined to give Sony creative control over the character, nor planning on honoring the contracts with Sony's Spider-Stars. More poking into the origins of the Aunt May solo film and Female Spider movie rumors revealed that these were actual Sony Picture Entertainment plans that Marvel knew about and severely disliked. Now that Marvel can have the rights to the character back, they plan to wipe the slate with the Amazing Spider-Man universe.

IF the Marvel/Sony deal were to go forward, Andrew Garfield would no longer be Peter Parker and any baggage from existing films, Raimi or Webb, would be non-canonical, Marvel doesn't want any part of those films. The idea is that the Spider-Man romance movie has been played out over five installments, so any new Spider-Man films would focus on the difficulties of being a teenager and a superhero with a romance side-story, not the film's focus. Marvel also thinks that the origin story is well-trodden territory, so any Spider-Man movies under this deal would begin with Peter Parker already leading a dual life. Spider-Man making his debut in Captain America: Civil War is still a distinct possibility and would serve as the character's introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But as of now Spider-Man will NOT be in Civil War. I was told that they have a script nailed down.

Marvel's desire to remove Andrew Garfield from the role was a major point of contention with Sony's Amy Pascal, traditionally a stalwart defender of the talent in her films. However, current events leave her positioned slightly weakened.
