Now does anyone still have the article Martin wrote about The Avengers!?

No one has it, at least not that I know of. Korey said it disappeared when Spill went down.

Someone had to have taken a screenshot or something.

Korey and Tommy's rant about Marvel not making a Black Panther movie on the Call-In show was glorious.

The Austin Chronicle wrote and article about how things spun out of Spill, and they posted it on their website today. It's stuff that many hardcore fans might already know, but it's a nice way to recap things.

When talking to Korey Coleman about Spill.com, the now-defunct movie review website he founded in 2006, he's well aware that people are familiar with the roots of the organization. "Everybody's heard these origin stories," he admits. However, it's a story worth revisiting, especially since the heroes are once again returning to positions of influence in the world of online film commentary. It's the tale of five movie lovers – Coleman, Martin Thomas, Chris Cox, Tony Guerrero, and C. Robert Cargill – and how they built something grand, lost everything but their fans, and carried on with their heads held high.

Lol I was just was about to post it, my friend posted it to my Facebook wall.

I have to admit that I haven't been following Double Toasted as much as I should!

I still keep up with them whenever I drive to work and back.

I just caught up earlier this week. But I only watch their video reviews

I keep up with them everyday, especially since they do a podcast everyday now.

I don't really follow Double Toasted anymore, instead I listen to One of Us.net (Chris Cox site). I occasionally listen to Korey and Martin's movie reviews because they are still pretty funny at times. I don't listen to anything else or their site nor will I become a paid member of the site. Anyway, the Taken 3 review with Korey and Tommy ( I think) is super funny. But the reason, I am not into double toasted is because I got mocked by the community after some podcast on their site was up and religion got talked about. I knew both Korey and Martin and most of the spill/ double toasted community was atheist and that is fine, everyone is entitled to their beliefs but when you mock people for believing in God like Korey and Martin did was uncalled for. Then to have the community bash me on the forums for saying it was a bit out of line to call people stupid for their beliefs was my last straw. Yes, I know Chris is also an atheist but he isn't a *****e about it. I just find the One of Us community to be a bit friendlier.

IMO where as Spill attracted fans from all different parts particularly more from the geek community, DT tends to attract more of the urban and "bro-ish" audience.

And maybe it's me but I'm getting kind of tired of the whole "come one, come all" aspect of the podcasts. When it's just Korey and Martin that's great, even with Tommy and Ray it's great; though I still think that Tommy tends to just go along with whoever he thinks is right instead of having his own opinion sometimes.

But now that they're letting pretty much anybody and everybody come on the podcasts, it's starting to get a little tiresome to me.

Also, since he's done two small podcasts with his mother I think Korey should do a small one with him and Ms. Mia.

There are way too many guests now a days. Guests don't feel special anymore, and the guests are from the fanbase anyway. I know I'm one of us, no pun intended, but the Spill/DT fanbase is horrible. It's full of a bunch of wanna be film and/or culture critics, and they fail miserably at trying to be like Korey. The guests just take me out of it sometimes because then the stories go back to the usual, "Man we were drinking, and boy this crazy thing happened, and then we went to another bar and did something else stupid!"

I'm still a fan of the show though. I just needed a bit of a break since I've been listening to them for a while now. Their reviews are still money because Korey and Martin's chemistry make for some funny stuff.

I never really liked guests even in the Spill days. Who was it BIlly? Or whatever his name was caused me to stop listening to LDT (that and i didnt have much time anymore.)

I do think that they should limit guests. I watched the Boy Next Door review and there were two guys other than Korey and MArtin. One who has done a couple of reviews with the really cool saunteer-y voice and then some other guy. The cool voice guy didnt really see the film so I don't get why have him in the review? Neither of the non Korey or Martin guys brought anything to the table.

Korey and Martin by themselves are enough especially since their kinda opposite, kinda the same type personalities mesh so well.

This reply is late but I have to say that Chris was really annoying with his atheist views during the Spill days. Any religious movie or one with religious message, overtones, parallels, etc. had him b****ing .

On a positive note, glad to hear Grant again with Korey and Martin.

Yeah, the guy with the voice is Tommy he's the does the Daily Double everyday with Korey. He also does the Causal Call-In Show with Korey and the Weekly Roast & Toast with Korey and Martin, and I think he does editing for the shows.

The other guy is "the other Korey". He's a fan who's been there for a couple of shows, and is supposedly moving to Austin so he may become a part of the site.

I was part of the Surviors of Spill (or whatever it was called) community on Facebook, and I left when gamer gate come around. It's shocking to see how many of them sided with gamer gate, and when a female would politely disagree, she would get attacked like crazy.

I stopped listening because the lack of Tony. I just wish he would come back, because he was my main draw. It's been a year and it's probably not going to happen.

Yeah, anyone who is not Korey or Martin are kinda boring. At least Billy, who can be annoying, brought something to the table.

Off topic question but Ive been wondering this for months...what the hell is Gamer Gate

That's not what happened. Hell the main people leading all that **** were females. In fact, one female infamously quit because Korey and Martin wouldn't read her Gamergate stuff, and she got tired of people saying it was a woman bashing thing. As a matter of fact she got really depressed over it, but she's better now. Make no mistake though, that wasn't some women bashing thing at all. It was a straight up nerd fight that finally died down. Some ******* tries to start it up again every now and then, but everyone has moved on. Probably because Samanta left. lol For the record, she's my homegirl. She's a good chica. Just way too passionate about stuff sometimes.

It's not best to ask. It's basically Democrats vs. Republicans. You'll get a couple of wildly different answers from uninformed people. Just watch porn instead. It'll be more productive.

I've been meaning to ask this for a while, but were any of the old spill audio or video reviews archived, or are they gone forever? There were a few moments I'd love to relive.

There was a torrent of all of the shows archived. I don't know if it's still around, and if we can link to torrents on here. But here's a YouTube page with tons of old stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/user/SpillAudio

There is also some DT stuff on there too.
