Have you seen Crossing Over? It'll give you a good idea why.:woot:

I don't think I've actually seen anything with her, let me guess...shes nekked.

EDIT: Oh wait I've seen The Raven...yeah don't get it.

Uhura looks so amazing in action mode. That was my major complaint for the first one. Uhura didn't do anything. I can't wait to see her in action!

It was still a lot more than she ever did in the old TV series and movies. I was watching Space Seed the other day and it was funny how they used Uhura. This was basically all she did:

1. Look concerned
2. Bend over so you could see her undies
3. Cry

I'm not sure how I feel about Dr. Carol Marcus being on the film.

She really was just the chick who answered the phones.

Yep. When I look at the original series, Sulu, Checkov and Uhura where not that important to the overall series in terms of story and character. Socially, they where important. Seeing a black woman and Asian man in a role of authority and not a stereotype was huge in the day. They are 3 characters I wouldn't care if they where relegated to background characters.

Kirk, Spock, McCoy and even Scotty are far more vital. I just wish Scotty was more serious and not just used for comic relief in the JJ films (to be fair, have no idea how they'll use scotty here).

That is true. Still, considering they were setting out to modernise it I'm sure they could have done more for the female fans in relation to Star Trek's only female character.

Ailing ‘Star Trek’ Fan Who Got To See ‘Into Darkness’ Dies
By THE DEADLINE TEAM

The terminally ill Star Trek fan who got his wish to the latest movie before its May release has died. New York’s Subway Cinema reported on its Facebook page that Daniel Craft died Friday night of complications from cancer. Previously identified only by his first name, Craft, who was 42, was a longtime supporter of Subway Cinema and the New York Asian Film Festival. Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams learned of Craft’s dying wish via Reddit and Twitter and arranged for Craft and his wife to see an early cut of the movie.

That's too bad. :csad:

It's sad, but it really warms my heart to know he, a Star Trek fan, was granted his dying wish before his death. I mean, he got to see the movie over five months before the rest of us. How lucky is that?

I hope he dictated a review of the film to his wife before he died. I wanna know his thoughts once the embargo's lifted.

..... I know what you're trying to say, but I wouldn't say 'lucky' at all.

Yeah, its not everyone who gets their dying wish. Its tragic he is gone, but good he got his wish.

R.I.P.

I hope the flick is good.
I wonder if he liked it.

It would kind of suck if the last thing you do before you die is see a movie you really want to see, it sucks and you're all like "Oh bummer" and then dead.

I don't mean to sound insensitive. I just... I just hope he had a good time with the movie before he passed on.

Have you seen the movie Fanboys? That's pretty much what happens in that movie with SW Episode 1, but I'm not sure if he liked it or not...

Yeah ironically for all the progressiveness in its heyday (White Canadian and Black American kissing), Star Trek isn't doing much of that now.

Some Trekkie told me Trek has never even had a gay character.

Women still wear skirts, and sit in the back.

Well, there was Janeway... maybe that's why.
