Yeah, Cumberbatch is an excellent actor. Sadly, I'm afraid he is going to be wasted in this movie doing a Khan retread (whether he is Khan, Mitchell, April or just plain John Harrison). The way he says "I'm better" and "Everything" in the Super Bowl spot, with calm arrogance, charisma, and fire in the eyes, screams a Khan-like character.
He's Khan-like in power and arrogance but thats it. Benedict plays it cold and stoic , vs the exotic and charismatic Ricardo.
When I say exotic with Ricardo, I mean strangely sexual!! Look at them pecs and accent! He's very showy whereas Benedict's look is understated.
So far Benedict looks like very direct. Meanwhile Ricardo will befriend you, earn his trust and he'll stab you in the back!
Sorry but I had a beverage moment there.[Trekmode] the NX was just an Akira class starship turned upside down [\Trekmode]
I'm not sure what else there is to say. It doesn't make sense with the Botany Bay history (which would have been launched into space BEFORE the new timeline was established). If he is Khan, he can't possibly have the same motivation for his vengeance as the original. The theory I still like most is that Benedict is NOT Khan, but another genetically altered superhuman.
From what I've seen the ONLY place that indicates he's Khan is on that ew web page, the article itself merely comments that there has been long running speculation that he's Khan and it's an 'unconfirmed rumor'. So whoever did the webpage on ew's site decided to take it and run with it actually calling him Khan.Soooo barely anyone's commenting on the Khan thing... okay, then. Star Trek fans, my ass.![]()
