Someone posted this in another thread, imagine seeing something like it for Episode 7:

why would the end one of the most popular cartoons on TV?

Because it's run by CN. Disney will most likely start up a new Star Wars series on Disney XD that doesn't take place during the Clone Wars.

If Disney does that, they can eat ****. :o

or just move the series over but I don't see them canceling it. I think it will depend on the deal as CN renewed it for another season.

I look at it as a good thing. Like the movies, I think the shows should move past the Clone Wars as well. I want a new series to explore the universe after the Clone Wars and the Empire's demise. If they do a series spanning all over the Star Wars timeline, that would be cool as well. Then we could see all of the Sith before the rule of two.

They could move the series, but I doubt it. I'd like for CN to get Star Wars taken from them. They handle their good animated shows like **** anyway, so I'd say they deserve it. Plus, how long can they keep that Clone Wars stuff up? It's time to expand!

With the merchandising they can do for this series? Highly unlikely that Disney would cancel it.

Disney would start to sour on the fans if the first thing they do is cancel a series that is pretty much loved. When I was at Celebration the two biggest events was the George Lucas interview and the unveiling of the Clone Wars trailer for the new season. I realize that not everyone likes the show but a majority do.

Disney "souring" on the fans won't mean **** when they're responsible for the release of Episode 7. The fans will warm right back up to Disney if a new animated series is as good or better than CW is... and, yeah, the release of Episode 7 will help as well.

The clone wars is only broadcast by Cartoon Network, Lucasfilms has always withheld the right to air it where ever they like. There were plans at one time to have it on more than one channel.

Never thought I'd see the day where an EPISODE 7 would become plausible...

Excited but cautious.

Also though before the clone wars came out, Lucas described his goal for the series to be about 5 seasons long and around 100 episodes.

Which is where the show is now.

I just hope they close out this season with a great ending/closure to this series, if they do cancel it. :csad:

But maybe down the line we get a new animated series, something like this...

:wow:

A new and fresh animated series sounds fine to me. Catching up on 5 seasons of clone wars is far too daunting a task.

I'd join that riot, it would be stupid of them to cancel it, and considering how cool the series actually is, a kick in the butt to those who enjoy it. I say let CW have his run and then create a new animated series... or maybe even the long awaited LAS.

I see we have a Star Wars forum now! This will be a day long remembered :woot:

Agreed, neil.

By the time they get a new series off the ground, the CW will have had its 5 season run.

Five seasons...yikes!

To be fair, I caught up with five seasons of the wire after the event but I would be far less prepared to do that for an animated series.

Do anyone think this could also help the live-action series?

I did the same for The Office back then, so I understand where you're coming from.

Yeah, I think it could, but now though I'm wondering if they still plan on doing that with the announcement of Episode 7. They're probably going to want all the focus to be on the new movie now to make sure they do it right, so maybe they'll put the live-action show on hold until after the movie.

why would the end one of the most popular cartoons on TV?

Because its on Cartoon Network. Disney has no interest in helping one of their rivals, they would rather have a Star Wars show on one of their channels, instead of the Cartoon Network. When Disney bought Marvel, that deal ultimately put the kibosh on Spectacular Spider-Man, because Disney didn't want to pay Sony for a Spider-Man cartoon, when they could make one themselves.

Maybe they will move the remaining episodes/season to the Disney Channel?

Shiet, this sux.
