Rebels Star Wars Rebels Season 3: An Open Discussion

It looks like Rebels will line-up with Rogue One.

Now we know Hera and Chopper are alive, but that leaves the rest of the Ghost crew's fates as uncertain. I predict not everyone will make it to Rogue One.

Rex might be ok, Filoni (and a few others on the production team) has said in the past that he is a fan of the Nik Sant fan theory. While it doesn't make him completely safe (until the show did something in canon to tie Rex to it) but it does offer a chance. As always the only real question is what they have planned for Ezra and Kanan.

BTW for those that don't know the Nik Sant theory its about one of the Rebel Commandos that are part of the Endor strike force. He has no Canon name but Legends called him Nik Sant. He stands out a bit among the commandos in that he has a large white beard.

The simplest way would be to have Rex use Nik Sant as an alias in an episode. It would be a nod towards the theory without a full confirmation since the Rebels show getting as far as ROTJ would be a stretch, without a decent sized timejump the show would need to last 5-6 more years (not that I would complain if they managed it).

^I didn't know about that theory, that's kind of cool.

Ezra's ultimate "fate" is death, IMO. I never saw a scenario where he and Kanan live. Though I'd be fine with Ezra dying and Kanan and Hera living a somewhat quiet existence together post Rogue One.

Hera won't go to live a quiet life while the Empire is still in power. And Kanan won't either. Whether it's fighting the dark side, growing in the Force, or fighting the Empire Kanan will be doing something other than retiring after Rogue One. It'd be way out of character for them to abandon the fights for the galaxy and abandon their duties and responsibilities. If they survive until ROTJ and Kanan isn't off somewhere doing something for the Force maybe I could see them going to live a quite life together after the Empire surrenders.

I've caught up on Rebels. I forced myself to watch in spite of struggling to stay awake on countless occasions.

The best episodes are those involving Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Darth Vader. I don't have a hard time staying awake for those, for the scenes where those characters are on screen. What this shows is that the show works well when it imports mythology from the greater, more interesting star wars universe.

Within Rebels, they have not established anything that is independently interesting. It's just a gang of misfits on a millenium falcon.

I hope there's a payoff eventually.

I enjoy Rebels more because it feels more like Star Wars, unlike Clone Wars which I generally found always highly overrated and flawed.

Now do I think Rebels is perfect either? No. But I think putting an animated series around the time of the Rebel Alliance starting to get its foothold in the war is a better premise on a concept level.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!

TIE Defenders! Thrawn has Deathtroopers!! Return of the Darktrooper Droids! TIE Defenders!!! Kanan giving Sabine saber lessons!!! Mandalore! Gathering of the Alliance! Mon Mothma! Obi-wan vs Maul!! Oh, and did I mention TIE Defenders.

My buddy just gave me the heads up. Just a few more days.

DAT OBI WAN THO!

Can't wait to see Obi Wan vs Maul... Ohhh man!

Also, cool to see Thrawn in physical combat. I don't remember him ever fighting someone in the Thrawn trilogy at all.

BUT THAT OBI WAN THO!!

Holy **** Obi Wan vs Maul..... the rematch

I was thinking who would be the one to kill Maul again.

Obi-Wan
Vader
Kanan
Ezra

A lot of nice stuff in the trailer :)

Its cool to see that they are moving forward again with the building of the Alliance.

And it looks like we will actually get Old Ben on the show (unless that was someones dream in the trailer), I kept thinking that they might hold off going that far and we would just end up getting to Tatooine but not an actual Obi appearance (except maybe a figure in the distance or something like that).

I did wanna see a Maul vs. Vader fight though.

However, I'm guessing Maul doesn't make it off Tatooine.

Sabine, can't you see you're just not the Mando Girl For Me

I know it might be wrong but I'm in love with Sabine's Mom

So, anything important in the trailer? :o

Eh... :cwink:

I seriously did not know how much I wanted Sabine to get saber lessons from Kanan until that trailer.

Just saw a comparison pick with a zoom in on Sabine's mom. She is at the very least, very much inspired by Rook Kast.

Hmm the bit at 2:01 is puzzling me, not sure who that is walking across the desert, he seems to have a walking stick, the planet doesn't strike me as being Tatooine (maybe I'm wrong though).

Also nice to see both Mon Mothma and General Dodonna making an appearance, it makes me excited of see what happens with the Alliance over the next couple of seasons.

Yeah i've seen a lot of fans saying she's Rook

Her yellow armor reminds me of Mirta Gev's armor from the Legends days

It's a popular theory. And considering that the helmets are extremely similar, except for the color, it is a theory that is gaining a lot of credence.
