He's a *****e.

He lived long enough to become the villain. :o
He died a hero as well

Chuck sucks! That dude has done some jerky ass crap to his x-men! he has sat around while Cyke has soldiered and has basically used em as cannon fodder! when you come right down to it he's almost as bad as Mags Since he says he cares but will leave your ass behind cause his mission cant be jeopardized! i mean the dude built a "danger room!" haha you want me to go into a danger room!?! you must be out you cotton pickin bald mind! he could so turn mags brain into jelly and end all the fighting in a heart beat but instead i think i will send children into battle! though i loathe wolverine i understand not jumping through hoops for nobody!get your ass up and you go do some fighting sometime Charley Brown!
:hehe:
And that says what X-Men fans hate in him

Charles is the best. I'm not even mad about the dangerous positions he's put the X-Men in nor the lies he's told to protect them. I much preferred the X-Men under his leadership than Cyclops'

X was a great character at one time. Like most X-Men, he's been ruined over the years with numerous stupid stories, retcons and being made to kneel at the alter of ****ing Wolverine. He's one of that characters that was hurt by comics becoming less serialized pulp adventures and more nerd soap operas. Pick a point before he became a lying *****e, and ignore everything after it. Disregarding crap stories is your friend with Marvel.

So, a mix of admiration and disgust with Xavier and the way he's been taken.

Here's a bit of a character out of left field...

Adam Warlock

Eh, he's one of those Characters I wanna like, but haven't really read enough good stuff to form an opinion other than that of Meh.

Warlock rocks! him along with marv-ell and thanos are some of my favorite cosmic types. He also was one of the few that as a kid i was damn this dude is dead?!!? that sucks!! that whole idea of him existing inside the soul gem with his evil parallel self "the Magus"( man! if your evil self sports a white afro you gots to be bad!) was such a hard concept to wrap my brain around. loved him and his #1 guy Pip the troll.Him and the infinity watch is still one of my best books!Lock rocks!

His costume sucks. Great art, bad picture

Don't know enough about the character himself to form an opinion

I haven't read a ton of stuff, mostly his stuff in Infinity Gauntlet and the sequels but he never grabbed me. I'd hear all these people talk about how much of a badass he is then I won't see him do anything. Like in Infinity Gauntlet, he basically gives Thanos a stern talkin too. I would like to read more though.

He's just a character that I don't care about. I've read all the Infinity stuff and maybe the first year of the Infinity Watch. Since then I've read a little of him in the Thanos ongoing and then his stuff from Annihilation Conquest on. In all that I still can't bring myself to care about him.

So yeah... he's pretty much a big "eh" for me.

I am a fan, but i do wish he was used a bit differently.

I prefer his IG era look to the newer ones.

A lackluster response to Warlock. I enjoyed him in IG and Infinity Watch, but yeah there was a whole lotta hype about his power but it ended up just fizzling. And his Magus side was just lame to me. Oh, and I enjoyed his IG costume more too.

Next up!
Venom (Brock)

What do you think of the original Venom? And what did you think of his movie role?

Symbiots suck.

He sucked in the movie, but it wasn't the writing, it was because Symbiots suck. :o

Sucks to infinity X infinity pie R'ed Squared X the speed of Suck X matter Sucked... alas poor venom i knew him horaito and HE SUCKED BIG TIME!!!

( oh and that movie sucked, but he was only another sucky element of it)

I like Warlock fine, although Stan messed with Jack's original ideas with him and to me he never really recovered.

Venom I cannot stand and I feel he ruined what was a cool thing with Spidey having two awesome costumes.

Flash Venom written by Remender is the best Venom has ever been written. That says a lot when it's only been a handful of issues.

Brock is more interesting as Anti-Venom.

Venom was a character I loved when I was a kid just because he looked cool. But over the years, I realized how sad it is that a concept and a look that's so badass has been so tragically misused ever since he was created. Before SM3, I always felt that Raimi could have done him justice, only to be disappointed by that too. I mean, how hard is it to make a great character that's a near-complete contrast to Peter Parker and knows everyone about Parker a huge threat to him. I feel like the Spectacular Spider-man is the series that did the most with it, and I still feel they could've done better.

It's really hard to nail, when you think about it.

A villain who's stronger and knows all of the heroes secrets...

Really when you think about it the concept's not really designed for a long-term nemesis, because unless that villain is completely and utterly inept, they should be able to get the better of the hero... and to repeatedly fail despite those advantages takes away a lot of the threat.

A character like that is kind of doomed to either a death or to suddenly turn good, or to lose interest in the hero...

Anti-Venom & Flash Venom, I like
Brock Venom is alright

The Eddie Brock version of Venom was cool at first. When they started doing those miniseries all the time after Lethal Protector that's when the character just kind of "jumped the shark" in my eyes. It just seemed they never knew what to do with the character but they had to have him appear regularly because the character was popular.

They've tried desperately to do so many different things with the symbiote over the years but right now with the current Venom series things seem to be getting back on track.

I love symbiotes(suck it Nubs!) and really dig Venom. I preferred Gargan to Brock but he's easily #2

Part of the "bad-ass" wave in the late 80s/ early 90s that just seems "Silly" now.

Venom was okay. Then he was being touted as Spider-Man's "greatest villain" and all the other symbiotes arrived and he went from "Okay, Interesting Mid-level Villain" to "Pile of Suck".

Disregarding crap stories is your friend with Marvel.

Why wouldn't you disregard crap stories regardless?

I've been waiting for this! Along with Green Goblin, Venom is my favorite Spider-Man villain of all time. He knows everything about Peter Parker, and hates him. He's a very formidable foe for Spider-Man, and his look is pretty cool too, blending Spider-Man's black costume (his best alternate costume) with monster elements and distorted human features. This is a guy who literally chose to be a monster in every sense of the word.
I love his dark sense of humor, and he's one of a few Spider-Man villains who can dish quips instead of merely taking them.
