He was clarifying why he said this:

Superferret said:
Wally is a great character, and hands down the best all grown up former sidekick.

I feel like his time as Robin is being overlooked if that is the case.

He grew up to be a great former sidekick.

You stupid kids should have been born sooner. Lazy asses.

Don't even have to have been born earlier, just willing to learn about the past. I was born almost 20 years after Jay's last Flash Comics issue came out, but that didn't stop me from deciding he was my favorite Flash. And I was 1 years old when the Beatles broke up, but I still know they were far and away the greatest band of all time.

I grew up with Barry but Jay's the original and all the other Flashes are just derived from him. Except they are nowhere near as cool.

Greatest Band of all time? Pfft. That distinction belongs to the Stones. :o

Stones are great but they are #2. The Beatles aren't even my favorite band (that would be The Who), but I still acknowledge they are the greatest and most important band of all time.

The Stones are Gods, though.

I'd like to give a nice shout out to the Kinks as well.

The Kinks are terribly underrated. Ray Davies is a brilliant songwriter and their influence crosses many genres.

Had I been in charge of DC back in the day, Barry would have gotten his Jack Knight style ride off into the sunset to have a nice retirement in the future with Iris, and he would have passed the mantle on to Wally. And Wally would be the Flash of Earth-One.

That's fair, better than killing him as they did

He dies saving them all... That was his legacy in terms of greatness.

That action was what made Barry "the Greatest" Flash despite not being the most powerful...

But Geoff Johns couldn't have that...

I loved Wally when Waid was writing him absolutely loved him. His series was so much fun while also having lots of drama and great characters.

I miss Linda and Piper :csad:

Really enjoy the Wally West version of The Flash. Geoff Johns first run on Flash was what got me into the character and that amazing Howard Porter artwork. Then I went back and dove a bit into the Mark Waid run and that's really when the character grew on me.

Bummed that they brought Barry back and Wally just kind of faded into nothingness. I'm hoping with this "relaunch" that they integrate Wally in at some point because if not that will bum me out even more. A great character with tons of potential just waiting for someone to actually do something with him now.

Well, that's it for Wally.

Apt.

Jay is pretty fab. He's a really cool old guy and probably my favourite surviving member of the JSA. I can't wait to see Robinson write him in the new JSA ongoing series

Jay is awesome, my second favorite Flash after Wally.
